The funny thing is that this is going to be a pretty mainstream event. Most of the crazy beer crowd is going to skip it. But, the most insufferable are the hipster douches, which predominantly know very little about beer in general. You'd be surprised how many skinny jeans wearing, beard sporting, horn rimmed glasses crowd actually know much about beer. They like to talk a good game but they are pretty easy to figure out.

You mad bro?

That is not really a beer festival, more like Mardi Gras. The German purity laws means that there is typically very, very little variation in their beers. They make good beer but you will never see the kind of variation that you will see in the US.

because their beer is better, and they don't bother trying to create the next big hazy grapefruit blueberry dry hopped shrimp cocktail IPA

I mean.....I am not the one spamming the thread with a bunch of wierd and autistic commentary. I am not what your bro fetish is about either.

Yeah, hipsters at beer events are annoying. Really hipsters anywhere are annoying. If you are into beer because you think it's "cool" and not because you like beer or the general beer community, then that's lame and annoying. And that's what hipsters do.

This thread sounds like a "Let's bash Asheville" thread but let's not forget that for every wannabe hipster pounding a PBR there is a frat boy from N.C. State drinking the same thing.

It doesn't matter if you are a hipster or a phi beta kappa, most young people are not craft beer drinkers which makes these events a mess because it turns a good festival into the damn pit at the Kentucky Derby.
