I've never been to a major one like this but waiting for beer ain't super common. After the initial hour or so you're just walking up and tasting whatever. I get wasted at them so I had to stop going, but beer festivals are great fun if you like trying new beers.

Yeah, try going to a major one...

The problem I have, is that I tend to drink craft beers like I would a regular old piss beer....  Which ends, much, much worse.

That said, I'll probably go.

I love the current trend toward lower ABV session beers. Don't get me wrong, I love a good 9%+ double IPA or imperial stout, but there's a time and a place for everything. When I'm trying to drink several over the course of a game or an afternoon out on the boat, gimme something in the 4-5% range instead.

That's the other thing. I always assumed the male/female ratio to be something like 85%/15% at these things. Not so?

Not even close. Women love beer too, especially craft beer and the social environment.

It is crowded and there are lines.

I guess it depends on how social you are and how much you enjoy new beer.

I used to like them but I am the type that finds what I like best and tend to stick to it beer/drink wise. I like trying new tastes and don’t mind the crowds or lines but at the end of the day it’s not worth it to me.

Especially when the social crowd is young, hispter type who crave and I mean CRAVE attention and debates.

As far as drinks go it should be of relatively low concern, it’s pretty rare people get poo faced at these things.

I enjoy beer of all types but never had a desire to attend a beer festival. I imagine them all being an over crowded mess of drunken bros, waiting in long lines for undersized beers. Am I wrong?

I've seen what you drink. Much Ultra Grapefruit went out of style many moons ago
