Untappd, the world’s largest beer app with over seven million users globally, and Bank of America Stadium have partnered to host the inaugural Untappd Beer Festival May 4, 2019 in Charlotte, N.C.

Beer enthusiasts and brewers from around the world will assemble on the field at the stadium to celebrate beer and breweries from across the United States. Over 100 brewers will pour samples of between two and four beers at booths stationed on the field at Bank of America Stadium. The event will highlight dozens of Charlotte-area and North Carolina and South Carolina breweries, as well as a strong contingent of brewers from around the country.

“We are delighted to be working with Untappd to bring this great new festival to Uptown Charlotte. The beer and brewery scene continues to be a beacon for the growth of our region, and we can’t wait to welcome many local and national brewers to our stadium,” said Carolina Panthers President Tom Glick.

“Bank of America Stadium is very much open for business. Attracting the best national sports and entertainment events to Charlotte and contributing to the rich quality of life in our city and region is a priority and of great importance to our organization.”

Tickets go on sale to the public March 1.

For more information on the event, visit https://untappd.com/festival, and follow Untappd on FacebookInstagram and Twitter.

“We sought out a world-class facility and supportive partner to create a one-of-a-kind experience for our first Untappd Beer Festival. We were fortunate to find both in the venue and team at Bank of America Stadium,” said Untappd President and Chief Operating Officer Trace Smith.

“While this event represents the first of a series of festivals throughout North America and Europe, we are a North Carolina-based company with offices in Wilmington, Charlotte, and Durham and wanted a ‘home’ for a recurring annual event in the Carolinas. We believe we’ve found an ideal host in Bank of America Stadium. We look forward to working together annually to build a memorable event that puts our city, as well as brewers in Charlotte and throughout the Carolinas, on a global stage to our audience of over seven million users.”

I enjoy beer of all types but never had a desire to attend a beer festival. I imagine them all being an over crowded mess of drunken bros, waiting in long lines for undersized beers. Am I wrong?

This. I've lived in Colorado for 12 years yet I've never been to the Great American Beer Festival simply because it's an absolute shitshow. You pretty much summed it up perfectly.

Long lines of bearded hipsters in their button-down, short sleeved, fabric print shirts 2 sizes too small and Chuck Taylors with black socks.

I really wish the hipsters would give up and shave already. It sucks for those of us who have been rocking a beard for 10+ years. Though I do have to give then credit for making it more professionally acceptable, so I guess thanks for that.
