Kaep wasn't starting material, but he was by far one of the better backups in the league.

If that is the case, which I'm not saying it is or isn't, then a marked number of the starters in the league for the past few seasons aren't starting material either. Including rookies thrust into roles, I'd say that number may be even as high as 50 percent.

PIpe dream.  Kaepernick thinks he's worth top-10 QB money.  We're not going to shell out that kind of cash for a stopgap QB.

Also - Cam will be ready.

I know everyone wants to see us become the social justice Panthers, and I thought signing Eric Reid was great, but we need to be realistic.  This is still a football team.  Not a political platform.

If this were to happen I'd expect to see some withdraw from the PSL owners. The question to me is what is the percentage of those who would walk away and turn their tickets in...?

Good - we don’t need them! Prob grew up Steelers, Redskins, or cowboys fans anyway.

The real question is can we afford him? First, we have to finish our FA signings. Second, sign the draft picks. Third, decide whether to extend/reconstruct any contracts. Fourth, sign any newbies after training camp. Might come up with another ACL training camp injury. Ya never know.

If anyone's going to sign him to a one-year deal, it'll be around 8-10 mil/year. No way we can afford that.

If we're going to sign Kap, it won't be until around training camp or preseason. Gotta see how Cam's shoulder doing.

I was all in on this if Cam's procedure left us with a ton of question marks still, but so far it is sounding positive. Granted, nothing can be certain until the healing process has been completed, but I would shell out less money for Fitzmagic personally. If Cam's shoulder looked dicey tho, spend the money to bring Kaep in.

Interesting, and I think he's a perfect stand-in if Cam isn't ready to start the season.  Would love to see him get his career back here, and reunite with EReid.

Gonna be a lot of angry people in red hats, lol...

What better way to start getting other teams interested than to mention the Cheatriots.  After all if the SB champs can sign him, anyone should?

Nothing but a PR statement. ZERO changes New England signs a one read wonder.
