Kap's Attorney Predicts Panthers or Patriots Will Sign Him

It would have to be on a cheap deal, even as an injury replacement option for Cam. We need to try and upgrade our backup QB but I am not sure Kaepernick is the answer. Definitely not for a guy that hasn't played in the NFL in a while and that was a pretty average QB.

If he comes cheaper than other free agent options, I am okay with it. I don't have high expectations, however.

I would be happy if we brought him in as a backup and the price was right. I don’t see it being realistic but will wait and see

You may be absolutely right, but I never thought that bringing in Reid and ultimately signing him to a longer term deal would be realistic either. Stranger things have happened. I think that Kap's talent has been overblown to a point (which perhaps has deluded his head a bit), but at the same time I feel that his talent has also been underappreciated by a serious degree, and that weird dichotomy between the two has skewed his potential value to teams to the nth degree, making his worth extremely difficult to calculate. But I believe he'd be awesome insurance for Cam if he'd accept the role, and at a reasonable price.

Why don't you explain what he meant by that comment then.  Why would there be a lot of people in red hats mad?  The fact that this board condones this political bullying is a joke and a moderator at that.  Go f yourself carolinahuddle!

What if I said, glad we made the cheerleaders work for sht wages and put them in embarrassing situations, gonna be a lot of white dress women mad, lol.

He meant Falcons fans.

Most here are for younger players and aren't keen on signing the over 30 crowd because of past and recent injuries and ability to perform well. We aren't in a serious need of a QB since Cam should be ready for the new season when it starts and we just may have a capable back-up if Cam goes down or needs more time to heal. There are much more pressing needs in many other positions than signing a 31 year old QB.

That is the issue right here. He will not take any thing less than a starting position and it really would be a waste of time even considering him if he refuses to accept a back-up role.

How long has he been out.of the NFL?  2 years?  His height was with Jim Harbaugh scheming him great reads and running lanes.

It was wrong to blacklist him.  I just am not sure he has what it takes to be a NFL qb.  We needore than a one read and run player.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/early-lead/wp/2016/12/04/colin-kaepernick-sets-nfl-record-for-quarterback-futility-in-loss-to-bears/

In a 26-6 loss to the Bears, Kaepernick became the first QB in league history to be sacked five times and throw for fewer than five yards in a game.

The guy has not been effective since 2014.  Blaine Gabbert played substantially better than him.  Blaine fugging Gabbert.

Please no.

He opted out of offered contract and walked out on 49's and NFL pretty much so how does this have anything to do with being blacklisted. He did this to himself.

Keep in mind this is his attorney's opinion.

Honestly, I can't see us grabbing him even if Cam is out for the season (and there's no indication at this point it's going to be that way). Kaep will come with a big price tag (one that would have been too high just considering how he'd played in his last two active seasons) and won't be looking for a rental deal. There are teams out there with more cap space and NO QB of note on their roster that will line up first now that the legal ramifications are gone and there's a "let's get back to business" feeling in the league.

He'll go to the Jags, Redskins or Dolphins, imo.

If Cam isn't able to come back, I'd see us rolling the dice with a younger, cheaper QB with the idea that it will either be a miracle season or one so bad that we get a majorly high draft pick with an eye toward Cam's successor.
