It’s so fuging obvious the moderates of this fan base hate the guy beyond football reasons.

I pray Colin is signed not only for this team to remain competitive if Cam is out, but also to cull the bigots that are now running rampant around here. Who I’m almost positive would bail on the team if he is indeed signed.

Ill forgive Tepper for not axing that ignoramus; Rivera, but getting CK onboard would be just as awesome.

Have people really forgotten he was one of the most hated players in the NFL way back before any of the kneeling began?

Yeah honestly, this dude was the definition of a douchebag. Maybe he's changed? Maybe not. If he wants to come on an affordable deal, then by all means sign him and let him compete. If he wants starter money then he can go elsewhere. As someone mentioned already, Baltimore would be a great fit tbh.

And he got benched for Blaine fuging Gabbert! Without Harbaugh Kap was absolutely terrible. And even with him he wasn’t that great when teams got tape on him.

Nah dude.  No one on this board liked that dude until it became political.  Just because he took a stance in many's eyes doesn't mean I have to like him as a football player.  I didn't like him before the media circus.  I"m not gonna be strong armed into liking a player I wasn't fond of just because of his kneecaps and a big money settlement.  Like I mentioned before....I loved the Eric Reid signing.

wrong

he opted out of his contract with san francisco because they planned to cut him. he wasn't signed because the owners blackballed him. that's why he later received a huge settlement from the league.

Wrong.

Kap wanted to be a starter and wanted starter money. He was given an offer by the Broncos while being ‘blackballed’ but turned it down. After that he probably turned off a lot of teams.

Also, you have no idea he received a ‘huge settlement’ from the league as no details about the case will be posted.

Eitger side can clearly tailor that to fit their narrative which is obviously what you’re doing and will continue to do.

For vet min? Sure. But there’s still concerns he’d be a distraction. And honestly he is an awful QB and would need to compete for a back up spot, which I highly doubt he’s willing to do.

In reality, there are more reasons not to sign him than to give him a chance and money he’d want and to actually play over Cam (lol) is the biggest one.

His last season he started 11 games, 18 total tds 4 picks almost 3k total yards. People were talking about this was the best he had looked as a passer since coming into the league.

i honestly don’t know if we should sign him because he’s been out for 2 years. That’s really sad.

Said it when we signed Reid. Signing a player to make a political point or "get rid of the racists" is just flat stupid.

You sign a player for one reason and one reason only: Because they can help you win football games. Any rationale other than that and you're doing it wrong.

FYI: That applies to not signing players too. You don't avoid a guy who can play because you don't like his views. Character issues yeah, but not politics.

lmfao, scot still doing his best to play devils advocate for no payoff.  Getting rid of racists is always a net positive. Not sure how one even says something so blatantly dishonest.

Getting rid of racists or racism is a positive, but it's not the reason you sign a player.

You sign players that help you win games, period. If you sign a player who isn't the best player you can get because you're trying to make a point, the only point you wind up making is that you're stupid.

I for one, would love to spend all of our cap space on a backup qb. I don’t see why anyone would have a problem with that.

Also, I love how every thread on Twitter about this is hijacked by CNN fanboys that don’t watch nor know football saying that Carolina should sign him bc we signed Reid. Genius!

What does that have to do with helping the team win?

He’s not a distraction because of his drama, don’t care about that. I am more concerned with him thinking he should play over Cam, fans wanting him to start the first sign of Cam struggling, the media talking about him all day instead of the team and it’s relevance, etc etc.

Nothing in Kaps past suggest he’ll come in, work hard, focus on football (competing for backup spot) and be a great teammate presence all for vet min. If he’d do that I’d be all for signing him to compete for a backup spot. He’s not good enough to be a starter, his playoff showings are atrocious, and has never been good enough to play over Cam.

Could be wrong, Reid did exactly this and he’s been a decent teammate and there is potential. But different player/person.
