Did you all read this article? All speculation of course but the author suspects Kaepernick would likely get something around $1-2 million. At that price, hard to think he's not worth the gamble. You could probably do a low guarantee with lots of incentives that could kick in if Cam goes down and Kaepernick serviceably plays in his stead. I think he'll have a ton of rust and likely won't contribute much but he definitely has the highest potential upside of anyone in that price range.

CK7 is a very smart business person.

The only thing I would say he is smart at is stealing money from the NFL but I don't want him on our team because he could care less about playing football. Everyone can poo on me all they want but he is a joke.

I’d rather not pay a FA QB and roll with Kyle Allen. He showed great pocket awareness and an ability to throw outside of the pocket. I’d rather see what that turns into than spend a bunch of money on a worse version of Cam.

That may prove to be a very unwise decision considering Cam's increasing rate of injuries. The only way we might be able to survive with Kyle Allen is perhaps with a far upgraded OL. We need to get a real NFL backup QB, not a dumpster dive, feel good story.

First, it’s couldn’t care less. Secondly, this is your opinion and you have no evidence to back it up. You have no clue if “he could care less” about playing football. He just sued the NFL and got paid because they wouldn’t let him play football.

I stand with Kap, think he is a great American, but I don’t see us signing him because I think he has been away from being a starting QB too long and he may not be physically prepared to play in the NFL anymore. I’d rather use a mid round pick to draft a QB.

He was never that great to begin with. He knew he was being benched so he had to do something. I might not know the truth but I think alot of people kinda see it's obvious what he was doing.

I bet the pats are glad they didn’t get a real NFL backup behind Bledsoe.

Absolutely bring him in on a vet minimum one year "Prove It" deal if he's up for it. Much like we did for Reid.

He's likely better than Garrett Gilbert, Taylor Heinicke, and Kyle Allen, even after being away from football for a bit. He's proven he can run an offense and be successful in the NFL.

I hope Cam is fine and ready to go and all that jazz, and that's my QB, obviously.

But, if he can return to form, I think CK is really worth the vet minimum or even a little more for one year as our backup.

I want him here for both football and the controversial reasons, tbqh, and I freely admit that. But I think the football reasons would ultimately overshadow anything else. A lot of people are selling him short.
