The NFL and lawyers for players Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid jointly announced Friday that they have settled a collusion case filed by those players against the football league.

No details yet to what exactly the settlement is.

So Kaep and Reid were just after money afterall, and it isn’t really about social justice...?

The case had nothing to do with any social justice or civil rights issues.

The case was based on a claim made by both parties that they were blackballed as a result of their stance on social and/or civil rights issues. Just because the case was settled doesn't mean both guys cannot continue to raise awareness or continue to further their cause.

they were after jobs which they were blackballed from over their social justice demonstrations. the Panthers gave Reid a job so he no longer has reason to pursue legal action.

not sure why this is so complicated to some people. yes i do. i'm just not allowed to say it.

Lol...

both have been offered contracts even after their drama queen events I honestly don’t understand what exactly they were suing about anyways...teams didn’t offer them the money or starter position they wanted, can’t sue over that.

my guess is the settlement is nothing because it wasn’t a legitimate case to begin with.

Kap got paid. NFL prints money, and does not settle with him unless they were seriously concerned about their ability to win.

I’m sure Kap will donate a lot to charities and continue to help off the field - meanwhile MAGA nation snowflakes will cry and pout and not contribute to society.

Kap wins again!

The entire collusion case was about money, Kap and Reid literally said we can not work because the league is black balling us. of course they settled..people always want to paint people something they are not, if Kap didnt die poor in the streets for social injustice he is a complete sell out. Money can help a lot of people

So you don't think they could settle by having the NFL pay out the settlement amount to Kap's Know Your Rights Camp or any other social justice organization or charity?

And there won't be. If the details get leaked the settlement could be voided. A settlement usually just means one side (or both) wanted to get rid of the issue. Could be for money reasons, could be because one side is boned, could be anything.

If most settlements are the norm I would guess either:

  • The NFL realized they were boned and would lose in court so they said here take 75% (or 150% for that matter) of what you were seeking and never bother us again,
  • Kap/Reid realized they would lose and said give us 20% of what we were seeking and we will shut up and leave you alone and not drag this out for 7 years.
  • Something else which covers every scenario so I am right.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
