Elway was hailed as a genius early on but he's looked like a dunce since then. it looks especially bad that the position he knows best is the one that's been managed the weakest.

That ring probably bought him 5yrs at the helm in denver, if this doesn't work I would say bye bye John

Oh well F*ck Denver is what I say

GOOD !!!!

Jesus, Flacco's base salaries the next 3 years are 18.5 Mil, 20.250 mil and 24.250 mil.

Really not sure why Newsome had such a reputation as a genius GM.

But there is no more guaranteed money in that deal. Those are all essentially voidable years woth no cap ramifications.

yes, but 18.5 for Flacco? At this stage of his career?

Not for the Ravens. They're going to pay him zero and get something in return and they have a 1st round pick with half a season of starting experience under his belt waiting in the wings. We'll see if Jackson was the right call for their QB of the future, but in terms of contract structure and drafting for the future, that's pretty much textbook on how to do it.

*Well, actually I have no idea if that's true or not. Over the cap and Sportrac are showing wildly different figures. If Over the cap is right, Flacco was scheduled to hit the Ravens at $26M against the cap and he has $16M in dead cap space. If Sportrac is right, they just owed him the $18.5M base salary and that was it. I just looked at the Sportrac numbers for the above post.

Pretty sure Sprotrac is wrong, Over The Cap is more trustworthy. Flacco signed a deal in 2016 with 40 mil signing bonus- that would be 8 mil a year until 2020, which is what OTC shows.

Yeah, time for the Ravens to move on, but I think I'd wait until he was cut, then sign him.

They had Case for one year and are giving up on him already? Elway was a great qb but he’s really sucked as a GM

8 seasons as a GM.

5 consecutive Division Championships.

5 consecutive winning seasons.

4 playoff appearances.

2 Super Bowl appearances.

1 Super Bowl Championship.

Sign me up for some of that, please....
