Stud DT Simmons from Miss St may have torn ACL and slip in the draft

According to Mort & Schefter: Mississippi St. DT Jeffery Simmons, projected to be a top 15-pick in April, suffered a knee injury during training that is thought to be a torn ACL, per league sources. A statement to offer clarity on Simmons' injury is expected to be released today. If it's a torn ACL I could see him fall in the draft and potentially be there in the 3rd or later......

I feel for him, this injury will cost him millions of dollars. Injuries suck but it's what comes with the game. Hopefully he bounces back strong. I would roll the dice in the 4th if he is still there.

Dont like this for the kid or us...  the more guys out of that top 15 pool that fall out of it (not pushed out of it) make the chances of us getting a top 10 talent less and less.

I wouldn't. We need an immediate contributor and possible starter in the second. With possible extra 3rd coming our way, we could use it to sign him. If he is gone by then, c'est la vie.

Draft him in the third or beyond. ACL tears in linemen is not a good thing.

Poor kid, I hate to hear that for him. Even if he recovers and rehabs completely, that injury cost him millions of dollars. I hope he had insurance for that (not to mention medical insurance).

He wont last past the top of the second round. We are hearing the Rams could still be interested at 31. Someone is getting a steal at that area but will have to wait a year for the payoff. Like the Cowboys who took Smith and waited 2 years for results.
