Do the Panthers need a tall "possession" receiver?

So we know Funchess won't be returning. If I am not mistaken the Panthers don't have a starting quality WR over 6 foot. 

 

Is a tall receiver a thing of the past for this team?

wright proved perfectly capable of moving the sticks. a tall receiver would be nice but it's hardly something to put resources into given the current state of the team.

Not really. We've got TEs over 6' if we need some height, but I think the guys we've got provide plenty of options for Cam or whoever. The big thing is getting open and/or just catching the ball and doing something with it. Now if we picked up another good receiver who just happened to be tall, then fine, but do we "need" one? Nah.

Tall, short, fat, skinny, black, white, green, fast, slow, gay, straight.....I don’t really give a FF what kind of receivers we have as long as they can catch and make plays.

Ian Thomas and Olsen will be our big guys. We don't need a tall receiver just for the sake of having one. We haven't had a whole lot of luck with them in the past

It would be nice.. To have a nice mix of size, to speed guys in the group .. But it isn't a need.
