A lot of the anti-Reid comments are consistent with the anti-Harper comments a few years ago. Don't make this about something it isn't.

This. I don't care if he kneels or what he says. I do care when he misses takcles or takes blatant cheap shots at sliding QBs and then whines about the repercussions.

wow you are really butthurt about this. he played like a top half safety and was paid like a top half safety and we filled a position of need. cry elsewhere

Find some sort of stat that backs up your comment.  PFF has him at #55 and we paid him like top 10.  Prove me wrong with facts, not your opinion.

people whining about 10 million guaranteed over a 3 year contract for eric reid have an agenda btw

Clearly the ONLY possible reason anyone would be unhappy with 7.5 million a year are because they are racists. No other possible explanations. Even though Tyrann Mathieu makes less money... sigh

Thought he played OK last season, not terrible, not awesome.

I'll wait to see how this deal is structured before saying if it's a good, average, or bad signing.

I really do with that Marty Hurney would learn to let players test FA before signing big deals though.

To me, he did pretty well when playing more of an SS type look and was more exposed in FS situations, which makes perfect sense given his skillset. The team needs to get back to a 2013-type defense with more solid safety roles a la Quintin Mikell hanging out down low and Mike Mithcell playing deep.

Pretty much my take. I probably wouldn't have paid quite as much, but I don't think it's a huge overpayment either.

The best thing about last year is that his concussion history didn't end up being a factor. Hope that's true this year as well.

I'm pretty sure Marty could be the only participant in a staring contest and still lose.

His falling for misinformation helped get Armanti Edwards drafted and got Charles Johnson paid a boatload of money.

What the hell are you talking about?! You mean the hit on Roethlisburger? The one he apologized for right after he made the hit? In the same game where they were targeting our QB. You're reaching too hard.

Anyway. It’s not a bad signing. But I feel we could have done better. I imagine we could have locked Reid up for less had we just waited a bit longer

This. Like I said, im not too upset abouy overpaying a safety after utterly neglecting the position for years.
