He also didn't have training camp with the team and started in week 4 in a defensive scheme that got its coach demoted. Let's see what he can do with an off-season.

I was thinking the same thing.  Once Rivera took over the defense as a whole improved.  Hopefully Rivera keeps his hand on the defense and Reid will return to Pro Bowl form.

You huddlers bitch about everything.  Good god.  We sign a good safety to a deal longer than 10 minutes and 1/2 the comments are bitching.  If we had signed a journeyman safety for peanuts than all we hear is bitching about he sucks.   Wake Up and realize this is a good thing for us. 7 to 8 mil per is going to be a steal watch and see.

Eric Reid’s 3 year, $22.05M extension from the #Panthers comes with $9.5M cash in 2019, & cap figures of $4.4M, $8M, & $9.55M. However, all of the guarantees live in 2019.

So it looks like a cap hit of 4.4 this year.

And a dead cap hit of 6.5,5, and 2.5.  So he is here definitely for 2 years.  And 2.5 hit to cut in third year.

PFF 55th out of 64 sheesh.  I don't always agree with PFF.  I don't completely agree with Whitlock.  I don't think this was for political reasons.  I think we need safties and don't want to spend capital in the draft or FA.  I think we overpaid for him.   He's paid like a top ten safety, he clearly is NOT.  He's not bad, but last year really was not very good.  Hopefully with a full season and preseason he'll step up.

You need to wait for free agency to see how his contract compares. Being 8th now doesnt mean anything
