Don’t count on ever seeing Old Cam again

Same thing was said about Drew Brees. That worked out pretty well.

Exactly... there were multiple doctors who said he would never play at a NFL level again period, let alone put up the video game numbers he did...

Andrew Luck had a much worse injury and we doing fine this year.

Only the medical professionals who have personally evaluated Cam have any idea.

That's why I feel like we need to leave Cam's shoulder alone.  We'll see it over the summer.  I don't need him to sling a 100 mph fast ball, but I'd like for opponents to respect his deep ball again.

I mean his 2015 season was a top 10 statistical season for a QB of all time and would be even higher if Ginn hadn’t dropped like 5 wide open TDs that year...

Why people insist we’ve been waiting for Cam to be a dumpoff game manager with a deep ball confuses the hell out of me. He had 45 total TDs to 10 INTs that year and went 15-1...

I’ll take that over whatever QB you are referring to any day.

Same offensive philosophy lost us the super bowl though...

Was listening  to a radio show, have to admit I don’t know who it was. They were talking about Cams injury and said they had spoke to a doctor who said that part of Cams problem is his cartilage is starting to break down and once that starts it never stops.

Guy said it’s going to be impossible for Cam to return to his former playing level where he could sling it, said Norv’s short passing game will help Cam in the long run.

Take it FWIW

If some unknown guy said it, it must be a fact

Cams problem was not arthritis(what you are talking about). He had a tear that was shaved and was minor and he had scar tissue removed to increase range. Fyi even if he does develop arthritis in his 40s his shoulder will still have the range and power to throw a deep ball. Only injury that could cause a weak shoulder would be A. More scar tissue or B. A tearing of more tendons.

Teams figured out how to attack Cam after 2015. I don't think we will see many folks duplicate that including Cam.  Cam in 2015 did it largely by himself. I want Cam in this offense over that offense getting the ball to the open guy instead of holding it trying to make a play.. we have enough playmakers that it is hard for a defense to shut us down by taking away our running quarterback.

plenty of quarterbacks have won rings without the ability to thread the ball forty yards up the seam on a frozen rope. cam was in the MVP discussions the first half of last season despite playing what felt to us like a water-down offensive system and it doesn't seem far-fetched to believe he'll end up right back there next year.

We were 6-2 and then defenses figured out Cam couldn't go yard. If Cam doesn't have the ability to stretch the field even 40 yards past the LOS, he doesn't need to be playing. Sorry, but at that point he becomes a hindrance.

I love Cam as much as the next person and pray that he gets healthy because he truly has elevated the franchise, but if he can't go he can't go. Gotta be able to throw that "hot, stinky, cheddar."
