The announcers mentioned that Merzak lost the 2 prior games, so they wanted to give Mac a chance.

Man I was so hoping we could have pulled off the win last night!  I dont watch Hockey enough to be real knowledgeable,  but I was really impressed with how the Canes played especially in the 2nd period against such a caliber team.

Not sure what they were talking about, Mrazek was just the main reason we beat Pittsburgh with 36 saves, just 2 GA and perfect in the shootout. His game before that was a loss but he was solid we just couldn’t get past Bobrovsky. And before that he had a 38 save shutout. Mrazek has been mostly on fire and Mac has slowed down a bit. Coaching has generally been good but I’m not seeing the justification for Mac against the Lightning.

We did fall apart and deserved to lose... but man, those refs were terrible. Embellishment, really? Not that it would have helped, it's just frustrating.

Yeah especially against Tampa who has the #1 kill and powerplay... That was rough. But the way we played in the 3rd was embarrassing and the reason we lost. Such a great 2nd period and then to close it out like that. Rough. Couple huge winnable games this weekend. Wild aren’t that good and neither are the Canadiens except for Price. Get these two and we get some more cushion for the playoffs. A loss to the Habs would be devastating.

Yeah, seems like the canes missed a golden opportunity, and came so close to going up 2 points on TB, but missed. Then when the Lightning tied it up shortly after, that seemed like it took the wind out of their sails.

Man each game is so stressful just trying to get into the playoffs.... I can only imagine the stress levels actually being IN the playoffs!! LOL...love it though!

That was an asswhipping. And Minnesota's goal was luck.

Yep. Big bounce back from the 3rd period against TB. The Svech-Staal-TT line has been unbelievable. TT with 70 points now... That contract is a steal.

Given the way the first 55 minutes went down, I can't believe the outcome.

Especially with Price in net. I thought we were dead in the water as minutes kept slipping by and we still hadn't scored. PP was still dreadful last night but the guys showed some serious composure to keep it to 1 goal and then respond. That is a huge 2 points for us going forward. I don't want to get my hopes up too much, but we might be ending the drought this year.

7 points up for the wildcard, 2 points back of Pitt, 5 for the caps with game in hand. Two against them coming up. Win both and only 1 point back. Amazing season so far.

Crazy to think where we could be if we swept the Caps....which we might. They've all been sick.
