just for point of reference:
Christian McCaffery - 2.4% (3 drops on 124 targets)
DJ Moore - 2.4% (2 drops on 82 targets)
Devin Funchess - 13.9% (11 drops on 79 targets)
Curtis Samuel - 6.2% (4 drops on 65 targets)
Jarius Wright - 3.3% (2 drops on 59 targets)
Ian Thomas - 8.2% (4 drops on 49 targets)
Greg Olsen - 7.9% (3 drops on 38 targets)
Torrey Smith - 3.3% (1 drop on 31 targets)

Smith is gone.  I'm surprised Olsen's is so high.

DJ Moore is going to brawl.

The biggest thing that frustrates me with Funch is not his hands. It’s that he plays so small. He was always catching the ball and going to the ground without anyone near him.  Hell Byrd even is more physical than Funch. He can’t out run anyone and refuses to out physical most corners.

Another conversation project gone bad.

Not to take away anything from the stat, but Cam likes to force his throws into his primary receiving targets which may account for Funchess' higher drop % while the short, shifty receivers he often throws when they have created separation or coming out of the backfield open.

Yet, KB is still in the top 10 with other QBs.

Maybe those two guys just suck at consistently catching the football? When you're a big possession receiver, a key component of your job is making those tough contested catches. That's your main job.

Sad thing is Funchscum will make millions where teams will think hes worth a sht...never liked his effort and he damn sure never had a point to make...GTFO...

I think he may have missed the boat. He definitely would have had he hit the market after last season, but last season is looking like just a fluke. His other three seasons have been plagued by drops and inconsistency. This past season possibly being the worst for him in both categories.

Funchess missed quite a bit and was essentially replaced by Moore as a primary receiving target but he didn't have the drops funchess had. Moore, Samuel, and CMC all put themselves in better situations and did more with the opportunities than funchess did. Being forced the ball is an excuse that just doesn't hold water when you're talking about the drops.
