so he's a d coordinator who doesn't understand how lb's and and the d backfield interact.  wow.

article sounded like 'old man yells at clouds and recites ancient people philosophy at them'

You should teach him about defense.

Too funny

What an unfettered load bullsh*t of that is coming from Rowboat.....complete and absolute hogwash.

In a way I can kind of understand why Tepper has given The Rower the benefit of the doubt, and allowed him at least one more season...but after reading that horsesh*t I really wish Tepp had cut the cord....

So it took him all season plus weeks of introspection to figure out what was wrong?

No wonder we can’t make intelligent in game adjustments.

We've said it before: If you made a list titled "things Ron Rivera figured out too late" it'd be a fairly long one.

And that's the thing. It's not that he doesn't learn. It's just not a very quick process.

The damnable thing is that he always waits too long to try and make any changes and he only does this when his ass is on the frying pan.

I have no doubt that he will try and make changes, but he's going to be fighting his nature when it comes right down to it and I would be surprised if he didn't revert back to his old ways at some point. ultimately, he is who he is.

I have to evolve and I have to change is diametrically opposed to stick to what you know. Ron is who he is and h just told Tepper what he needed to in order to get another year. He may be a little more aggressive next year but if we do well and he gets an extension he'll go right back to the same old Ron. Basically, we're back to "please save us, Cam" mode. Sure hope that shoulder holds up...

That may not be an accurate assumption because Tepper very well could have RR on a short leash to either succeed and stay that way or don't succeed and don't stay that way he is fired. Tepper may have turned the heat up considerably under him as a warning.

You have a coach with 6 Lombardi's that changes everything about his team/scheme from week to week, then you have the coaches like Ron who stubbornly make any changes at all.

Brutal to watch.

Bill has the luxury of Tom Brady and the weakest division in the history of football. He can afford to experiment more because his division is always playing catch up. Bill is outstanding however he also has the luxury of a shitty division.

It's not just Brady.

The Patriots prize intelligence at every position on the field. That's how they can be chameleons when it comes to game plans. Every player they have is capable of shifting on the fly.

Dude was an outstanding DC he's not stupid. Methodical maybe as his defense seems to be python like in that it squeezes a little more every breath until they've got nothing.

This staff is the best coaching staff as a whole this franchise has ever had like them or not. He pulled off getting Norv Turner to be his OC. That's huge. As long as Ron continues to call the defense I'm all for re-evaluation and re-contruction.

Success against the Patriots is just that. Success. I would have loved to see this team get the chance to play the Patriots again in the Superbowl. As I've said before, the Aint's and the Falcants can beat us but they can't beat the Patriots. We can.

Standing pat and doing the same old poo sure has worked well for Mo-Ron in the NFC South as long as Cam is healthy and being the primary rusher and pulling miracles out of his ass, hasn’t it?

Captain Checkdown?

Come on, Ron lines his guys up and he plays "Panthers Football", meanwhile BB is laughing his ass off.  There is no "Patriots Football" only football, and they are damn good at it.

We bitch constantly about getting Cam an O line, before that it was get Cam weapons and a better OC.  Take a look at the WR's on this years Pats team....take a look at where and how the O line was acquired.

Let's also take a look at how long Ron has been at the job, and what he has accomplished.

Above Ron in years at HC:  Bill B.  Sean Payton, Mike Tomlin, John Harbaugh, Jason Garrett, Pete Carrol.  Ron Rivera.

Notice anything outside of the horribly run Cowboys?
