All depends in we resign Williams the RT. If not, def OT. I'm not a fan of getting a DE with a mid 1st round pick as they probably won't be an impact player the 1st year. Most D-lineman need a year to really be impactful.

I tend to agree but if we do resign Williams I love DE in the first. What could be more pressing?

I suspect if we can't sign him long-term that we put the tag on Williams. Sure it will be 14+ for one year rental for a right tackle who hopefully is 100%. It is also a way to find out if that is true without spending a ton of guaranteed money that kills you down the road. Plus you get him and his agent busy trying to get a long term deal so they get guaranteed money. Which matters to a player coming off a serious injury.

You just don't let Williams  go if he is fully recovered. He was tough coming back from injury once to play and then get hurt again. He was a warrior on the line. With Moton and Williams healthy we have our tackles for the next big run.

So we can invest a 2nd or 3rd rounder on an OT for depth or Center or linebacker for that matter. But the first round needs to be an edge rusher which could be a DE or a DT or OLB depending on how they are going to scheme. They need to be disruptive and violent with power and speed. Honestly if  Ron could turn us into Blitzburgh South with some Dick Lebeau type pressure or a clone of the Ravens defense, then by all means draft the guy you need to do that. Then again Jim Johnson wasn't a slouch with pressure either. Should be a couple of great choices when we pick.

I take Sweat all day. Big long kid that keeps linemen off of him,Williams arms arent that long and he isnt really a LT,will probably be a dude that gets moved inside so at best hes another rt? so no on that...Sweat is better than farrell in my opinion who was surrounded by stars and is more of a high effort guy..combine will be huge for him.

Great perspective! Never thought DJ was worth a tag but win or lose it damn sure lets us know what we have. Worth the extra this year to find out if he is Matt Khalil or Jordan Gross.

Really like Sweat as well. 252 at the Senior Bowl. At 6'6 we could pack some pounds on him if desired. Really believe if he is there and we pass it will be a look back moment.
