Hi friends. Just a quick note to tell you all that I had a truly miserable evening last night, probably the worst night I've had since - the Cards game last January. A quick summary: Defense looked pretty good up front, but Godfrey and Gamble got abused way too often. Chris Harris had a couple of really nice sticks that had the Buff's receiver pulling turf from his face mask. Hollis is built like a tree stump and is just as tough to move. Brown had a nice move or two, and Pep is still playing like he wants to prove himself again. Deangelo is great, and so is Stewie. Special teams blows. Rhys Lloyd did nothing to help the field position game. John Kasay blew two critical kicks (TWO KICKS! - when's the last time that has happened?). And Jake. Man, I really hate saying this, because Jake has been a shining example of what a QB should be for a lot of years for us. But after last night, I say it's time. Let's see what Moore, or Feeley, or heck, even Cantwell can do. Playoffs are just wishful thinking now. Let's see if we have our next QB on the team already, so we'll be able to start formulating a shopping list for the off season.

yeah, we can bench Jake and start a QB who is not a walking turnover....but that only solves the offensive problem of giving games away. Gamble, Marshall, Godfrey.....haven't looked good all year....the last time the secondary was actually tested was against AZ. Gamble got lucky Sunday as he played poorly enough to get abused big time. Godfrey is just being Godfrey still. He is like the defensive version of Jake. You know what you are gonna get from him every week.....best case scenario is he isn't asked to do anything b/c when he is....bad things happen.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jake gets a last chance against the cards. Maybe if he gets some redemption there he can put everything behind him and move forward. I am 100% sure the Jake's problems are mental.

I agree that this is the case but do you really want to see him against AZ? I think it would be sad, pitiful and embarrassing for everyone involved. Kinda like when somebody says "Stop the fight"! We gotta show the guy some mercy and excuse him for a while. I like him as a QB but something is wrong.
