And lets not get over ourselves adding Gasol isnt going to make us instant contenders.

Itll be just enough to just get us over the hump and a last seed playoff.

That pick will be a 16-18, NOT a 25-30.  You can still get studs im that range if you draft right

John Collins in ATL-19th

Kyle Kuzma- 27th

Terry Rozier- 16th

Greek Freak- 15th

So we'd be betting BIG on Monk.

As we wont be able to resign Lamb, be able to sign a servicable SG, nor be able to draft anyone.

So we'd have Monk and Bacon next year.  And your worried about trading Lamb nowbecause he's the only other servicable scorer.  Just Wait untio next year

I mean I doubt a rookie 15th pick drafted by the hornets is going to fill that scoring void. A stretch 5 all-nba center whose also a good defender would be HUGE, as it seems that we currently either have to have scoring or defense on the court, never both. Also, I actually really like Bacon. Every time I see him play he shows a lot of upside.

Monk isn't as good as Lamb yet yet but that fact that he's so close in his first season of real minutes says a lot about his potential. He's averaging 10 points this season and if that holds it's better than Lamb's first five years in the league.

Agreed with everything you said. Plus with such varied minutes it's hard for him to get into any rhythm. Take yesterday's game for example. He has been playing great as of late. Monk checks in somewhere around 2 minutes remaining in the 1st quarter. I think he plays pretty well for  his  time in and gets 8 points and a couple of assists in around 8-10 minutes of court time. So what happens next? We don't see him for the remaining 6 minutes of Q2, halftime, all of Q3 and then expect him to come in Q4 ready to just bury shots? 14 minutes is criminal when the issue for the 2nd half of the 3rd and the 2nd half of the 4th was that we couldn't hit a shot.

Also, they started blitzing late so you surround Kemba with the one guy that can space the floor and take advantage of the chasing defense. I thought this was one of JBs worse coaching jobs of the year and I like him as a coach

this isn't that case. Gasol himself has said he expects to be in Charlotte. this trade is at hour 9 and damn close to finished.

I'm fully aware of that which is why I made the thread, I'm talking more about people freaking out about players being traded because some guy with 500 followers said so.

I think Memphis wants much less protection on the pick or Monk. Don't think Charlotte is moving on either and that's why Barnes isn't a Hornet right now.

we didnt have a 11 million expiring contract to give away like the Kings did with Randolf.. that's why Barnes isnt here..
