Is Edelman a HOFer?

For some reason people in the media are declaring that after Edelman’s MVP performance on Sunday he should be inducted into the HOF.

Dude is a clutch receiver and shows up in the post season but his career numbers don’t say HOF. I think it’s a freaking joke people actually believe he’s worthy.https://www.12up.com/posts/6289173-this-stat-proves-julian-edelman-s-hall-of-fame-case-is-an-absolute-joke

El Oh No

The fact that this thought has ever run through anyone's mind is completely ridiculous.

Let's compare to Hines Ward who probably won't get in himself...

Hines Ward: 1,088 catches, 13,624 yards, 95 TDs, 1 SB MVP on a run first team

Edelman: 614 catches, 6,802 yards, 35 TDs and 1 SB MVP with GOAT coach in a pass friendly system

Hell no, not at this point in his career. Sure, he’s had some nice games, but he’s not alone in that category. Want to know who has more career receiving yards than Edelman? Brandon LaFell. ‘Nuff said.

McCaffeey could have more yards from scrimmage after next season than Edelman has in over 10 years...

Not even close. Great player for sure, but nowhere in the discussion for the HOF. With the NFL going more and more pass heavy it's going to take ridiculous numbers to even get in the conversation as a WR moving forward. I don't think Smitty has more than a 50/50 shot and Edelman is nowhere close to Smitty.
