Panthers giving up?

While watching the pregame warmups when all of the players were lined upstretching, Peppers was the only player that didn't stretch at all. He just stood there watching everyone else.

Later in the game, when Jake over threw Steve, there were 21 players chasing down the ball. Steve just stood there. He was the only one 40 yards from the end of the play.

Have they both just given up?

Steve is a player that will never give up. Sure his emotions get the best of him at times, but if he's on that football field, you'll see nothing but 100% effort. He'll never take plays off I guarantee you that. Sometimes he may do something in a negative sense, but his whole intention is to make plays and be a competitor.

As for Peppers .... yeahhhhhh.

There is actually very little factual evidence to suggest stretching reduces chances of injuries, especially static stretches. So I am not surprised if some players just do some dynamic stretching and running to get warm and ready.

That's sad. Smith always chases people down when picks are thrown, and is often the first tackler to them (since the ball was inevitably going somewhere in his general direction anyway).

Body language tells a lot more than some people think. I will tell you something that bothered me, and it doesn't even have to do with football. During the pre-game singing of the National Anthem, the Buffalo Bills were in a straight line down their sideline, helmets to chest, while the Panthers were just hanging out on their sideline, some near the bench, some not paying attention, facing different directions. I don't know, I'm not one to nit-pick over trivial things, but this got to me. Call it lack of discipline, a coach losing his team, whatever, but I thought that lacked class to a certain degree.

I feel his pain. He's such a good receiver, just in the wrong offense. I mean seriously, 0 TDs to WRs this year? What the hell? If I were him, I'd feel the same way.

    • Dan Morgan’s first offseason is better than any of Fitterers by a mile. Really hope we invest in defense heavily in the draft. Run first teams can’t survive with a horrible defense.
    • It may seem like our rookies have fairly low yards. But If you combine the yards for Coker,  Legette, and J.Sanders, you get 800 which is more than Neighbors or BTJ.  Also Coker is the only UDFA on this list the fact that he's on any kind of top list as UDFA makes him arguably our best move this off season for the price we paid to get him. Slam Dunk off-season by Dan Morgan. Especially if Brooks shows us something this season. We've already seen Trevin Wallace doing some good things. Getting anything out of Smith Wade or Crumedy would be a bonus. Rarely do 5th to 7th Rounders work out. In a sort of strange way that Michigan LB we drafted in the 7th got us a serviceable backup CB in Mike Jackson. So there's that too. Imagine if Morgan has just as good as of an off-season before the 2025 season for the defensive side of the ball.
    • I love Cam, and want the org to celebrate him, but they've told him why things are how they are (he isn't retired) and he says he just isn't going to and expects them not to care... I get he's never playing again, but just sign the papers to retire and call their bluff...
