One of the worst SB's in memory

It’s wasnt great but it wasn’t terrible. The Patriots just completely out classed the Rams. McVay looked like a deer in the headlights, Goff played like dog poo, and Brandin Cooks is charmin soft.

Goff  isn't the engine that makes that offense thrive. It's a healthy Todd Gurley and believe it or not... COOPER CULP, their slot receiver. When those guys are on, that Ram offense is hard to stop.

There was a big drop off in their explosiveness when Culp tore his ACL. Once Gurley got hurt their offense became average. Pats fans were saying all week that a their worst fear was Todd Gurley, not Goff, having a big game.

Once I saw that Gurley wasnt going to be on the field for most of the snaps I knew Goff wouldnt be able to put the team on his back and win this game.

The defense kept things close. Had the Rams been able to get a pick 6  or turnover that led to points ; or if the special teams had a big play in the kick return game the Rams could have won this game in spite of Goffs performance. Holding a team to 13 points should be a guaranteed win in the Superbowl. For them to lose this game is as bad, if not worse, than the Panthers losing SB 50 to a Bronco team that had less than 200 yards in total offense.

Saw the start of it at dinner. Went home and watched the Hurricanes game with my son. Driving in this AM I heard it ended 13-3, but they didn't mention who won. Got to work and heard the Pats won. Probably will skip through the recording tonight to see the ads. Sounds like the hockey game was a good call.

I didn't think this one was bad.  The defenses played well, both generating good pass rushes.  Brady looked frazzled at times, Goff was frazzled much of the game.  But I like defensive games.

I'm sure the competition committee will address this.  We'll probably see rules changes including the DB can no longer chuck the receiver within 5 yards, and in fact can not make contact with him until he has taken three steps after catching the ball, and the DL can not begin rushing the QB until the down judge fires a starting pistol, five full seconds after the snap.

I have every faith the NFL competition committee will remain the biggest threat to the sport.
