Look like we got a new safety

Well we didn’t sign him off the street.  But it looks as though Hurney has another CB to safety project in Cole Luke.  He is now listed as a safety on our site   He played well in limited action as a CB.  And he is 200 lbs.   with several years of experience he may be able to make transition easier than Gualden has.

I saw that a week or two ago--kinda slid it under the radar--I like the move--Cole is a decent tackler and seems to play better facing the LOS...Who knows?

There's nothing wrong with having a good center fielder back there. I hope it works out for him and us. If not, well, we won't be any worse off for the move.

They used to do a lot of this kind of crap back in Washington when Marty was working there. They believed if you had a good enough athlete, you could just stick him anywhere.

I'm not that big a fan of it.

I really think it is just because we literally have no one signed on the roster except for Gaulden.

I am neither a fan or hater of Gualden but I think it is far too early to give up on a late 3rd round rookie that didn't play well.  We all know there is a huge learning curve for players coming into this league.  To say he is garbage after one season is pretty lame.

If I remember correctly Cole wasn't playing poorly in preseason and many here liked him.  If he can convert to safety than it might be a good move.

I am sure we will bring in more and the competition will be tough.

Hurney has the football IQ of a turnip. 

Not even a turnip in a state that has a team, some bumpkin turnip in rural Kentucky.  The kind of place where turnip greens are life and teeth are optional.

I'm all for drafting athletes late in the draft and trying to find them a position. But switching guys positions they've played their whole life is dumb unless there is a clear cut reason to

Yep, I'm beyond frustrated with Hurney's belief that he can make CBs into Safteys. 

Saftey has almost always been a position of weakness for us since we either never draft them, or draft them too low (basically project safteys) , or when we do try to answer the position we either get some declining cheap veteran band aid or we draft CBs to try to transform them into Safteys. 

Only thing that bucks this trend was Eric Reid signing and we don't know if he's going to be resigned. Adams should definitely be gone

This wasn't recent, once he was cut (during the drop to 53), he came back and was listed as a safety. Parms is the guy for safety if looking for an underdog.
