so 4 OT's in his top 20, along with a strong DE class...one of the two positions should drop to us.  If not I might cry.

Though I disagree with them on this subject.

They really hype up the Florida kid with his measurables etc.  But he has never played LT.  They along with others have pointed out he REALLY struggled with speed rushers.  One of their writer in his podcast here last week admitted they dont see him at LT but a good RT on one of his podcasts

Edwards, they are the only ones touting him as a first rounder.  Multiple other sites have quotes from scouts that are REALLY down on him and look at him more of a project.

 

They were pointing out all week how Great Andre Dillard looked, while he was not looking good.  His Senior Bowl week was avg at best as people pointed out.  Also having a terrible game being pushed intk the QB multiple times gave up a Strip sack and a Penalty in his limited game action.  Draftsite went on to brag how great he looked and a senior bowl week winner and solidly 1st rounder.  They since have quickly havnt been as high on him.

 

Cody Ford, there have been quotes who see him as a OG.  I personally have him as the #1 OG on my board.  He played RT at Oklahoma, they think he can stay there in the NFL but see his future as a OG.

 

Also this quote from the article in the OP about Dalton Risner 

"I want to go back to his film, because his Mississippi State game was still quite rough, and his explosiveness remains a question mark for me."

again feel this is lazyness much like the hyping Dillard at the seniorbowl while he struggled 

the quite rough comment while that was a really good game by Risner catapulting him on the scene as a OT matching up against Sweat that game.  Makes me feel they really didnt look at the film on that game

i think this is a solid OT class, but it just doesnt have the LTs its has some real strong RTs at the top

  He mentions 4 OTs. None of which will be LTs in the NFL. Except maybe Taylor, and he has never played there before. If they can’t play LT, there is no way I’m using 16 to take them.

We very specifically need an LT and there is a lot of talk in that article of recent college tackle prospects being more suited to be RTs or interior Olinemen. And no , you can't assume that we will resign Williams and that Moton will be LT. Or even if we do resign Williams, thats not a guarantee that he will be at RT and Moton at LT. We need an ANSWER at LT , long term LT of the future. Just as badly as we need a premium young DE.  

Maybe we dont NEED them, but it would be nice to have some upgrades also at C and LG instead of just trotting Larsen and Van Routen out there (who I think are very solid 2nd string/depth dudes with starting experience which is valuable in of itself).

  I’d take Risner over any OL. He’s going to be good somewhere.

Sign Trent Brown. Moton at RT(and can be a solid backup option at LT). 

 Use picks at 2-4th to draft G/C. Larsen might get us through a season. But I’d prefer a better option.

One thing I'm remember from Teppers interview was that he seemed particularly upset with the way the oline failed to protect the QBs this year. I wouldn't be mad at all if we took two or three picks this year and spent them all on the Oline, its past time to just shore that bitch up even if we have to suffer through another season or two of bad pass rush on our Dline.

Nice article.

I've been saying for awhile that OT might line up well with our current draft position (16).  There might not be one with a top 10 grade on a lot of team's boards, but I think there will be several in that 10-20 range.

Its fun to talk about the 1st round defensive edge players but we might want to be looking at the guys that will be there in the second.

We will probably have to. Everything is pointing towards there being 2 or 3 QBs going in the top 16 and otherwise a big run on Dline.

I would love Brown.  But don’t see that happening.  He is gonna break the bank for someone.  I have heard that even Williams could get some really good offers.  And our issue is this draft is littered with RT’s.  And we need a LT.  Let hope tha Moton can transition  to the left side.  That would give us a ton of options.  (Yes I know MS831).  

May LT Jonah’s length may be a problem. After that you have Dillard and Cajuste.  But I’m not sure if they project as day one starters.  Maybe we would have to start with Newhouse at LT for a couple games if we go that route. Don’t like that idea.  

If we sign any tackle that is gonna take the majority of our cap space.

I’d much rather give a player that can play LT....12/yr, than a RT only 10M/yr.
