Olsen one was pretty good

Guys is going to make one helluva broadcaster when he retires

 

 

Seemed Real confident he is going to return.  Said every one he has spoke to including doctors and people who have had this same surgery he just had said positive things

 

Said this surgery is more in depth with a lot longer recovery time but all the results turn out Really well.

Mentioned players normally dont go right for that surgery because the longer rehab process.

 

Seemed confident is this team.  Said this was the worst disaster pf a season pf a team he has been a part of, yet we were only 2 games out of the playoffs and had several close winnable gane that a few missed plays and we couldve been in the playoffs (specifically mentioned Cleveland, Detroit, Seattle, and first Saints game)

Rivera seemed pretty confident that TD wouldnt be a Falcon next year

If Olsen returns next year, I hope Norv cooks up some stuff similar to what we did with Olsen and Shockey under Chud. Ian Thomas is too good to simply go back to the bench and be forgotten.

Ron said the same thing when he was initially hired and yet we're still waiting.

When he got here he talked a lot about being aggressive, but he didn't talk about using the 3-4 they way he is now. 

By the way he is talking, this is happening.  I don't know if you listened to the interview, but he talked about looking at plays that really worked for us this year and seeing how effective we were when in a 30 front.  He also talked a lot about how being able to go 3-4 or 4-3 without having to change personnel will really make it difficult for opponents to know what we are doing and how to attack it.

He seems excited about the move.  I got the impression that we will be in a 3-4 base, with the ability to switch to a 4-3 depending on the situation.

I also remember how excited I was about how he talked about using Shaq when he was drafted allowing us to stay in our base D more often and being more unpredictable, etc. I don't think our percentage of nickel vs. base fronts changed a bit.

Might be we didn't do it before because his coordinators like McDermott we're already entrenched in the 4-3 and felt more confident in that scheme. Now that Ron is taking over the play calling and based on their success using a hybrid package at times, and his familiarity running a 3-4 under Norv, they are moving in that direction.

  That poor concept was directly against where the league was going. There are hardly any 4-3/3-4 teams. You HAVE to play nickel. Last thing we need is less “athleticism” no matter what we run. The same “80s mentality” that gives us Safeties that are just small LBs with no coverage skills. 

 Everyone played 11 personnel. Even more now. In what world did they believe there were NFL slot WRs that he was going to cover?

I think that Shaq has been a big disappointment in that regard moreso than Rivera scrapped the idea.  And yeah our use of nickel has gone up from what I have seen
