When people like Cosby and Weinstein etc. are protected for decades until finally being held publically accountable recently the backlash is huge. There is the real crime, not some goofy jock locker room humor.

Be offended by the real criminals and their crimes AND the cover-up they are afforded, not silly jokes by jocks.

You're barking up the wrong tree. We've got enough real problems of real abuse for every little microscopic judgement of humor to become a loose your job, suspend HIM situation.

If all that righteous indignation isn't focused on the real douches or real criminals what you're saying is empty meaningless and misguided much like the ad we were discussing.

This is the same logic that allows racism to carry on via older generations. "Hey, grampa Billy Bob might let an "N" bomb drop every now and then, but he don't know no better. So just ignore it."

You're giving a pass when you should be correcting the ignorance.

Gronkowski may be blunt, but he certainly isn't a moron, at least when it comes to financial doings.

This is what "Draining the Swamp" is all about on the deepest level. Those who support that movement aren't the ones kicking and screaming, it's the swamp (institutionally supported criminal abusers) creatures and the people knowingly or unknowingly supporting the swamp atmosphere in our country.

At least the Brits made an attempt to clean that element out to some degree. Here in the US we have not yet made the attempt publically to address the root of these problems as it pertains to our higher offices. That's were it starts. Are you down with that movement or are you kicking and screaming?

The Weinstein's of the world and their $ control politics and thus policy when it comes to douches and creeps like him of which there are many. We can't have that "win, win, with " while turning a blind eye to the culture that protects abhorrent behavior.

It has to be top down and prosecuting words instead of actions isn't a starting point.

Well when the guy at the top of your entire country is a womanizing, bigot, juvenile, and moron, it is kinda hard to expect anyone to really think we can try to hold all these other people accountable since committing their heinous acts.

The difference in where people like myself and PhillyB are sitting versus where people like you are sitting is that we're hoping things can change for the better, regardless of the politics of each situation, and not simply throwing our hands up and saying, oh let's just let this one slide because... reasons...

I'm not at all giving a pass. Freedom of speech does. Whether I like that or not it's constitutional.

Holding real abusers accountable instead of getting hyper focused on foolish talk is what REALLY makes a difference.

Getting hyper focused on foolish talk is what eventually eradicates the environment where real abusers thrive.

Also, freedom of speech lets people say what they want, yes. However, it does not protect people from opposing views and blowback.

yet all this racist and political poo is what Igo said just one week ago would not be tolerated. Off season does not turn this forum into the tinderbox.

As bad as you think POTUS may be their are far worse monsters who have yet to be uncovered that are really running things. "The evil shall slay the wicked and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate"- Psalms

Nobody has to be perfect to stand against real evil. Nobody is perfect. I'll sit back and let an imperfect person fight for a better future for us all which is very brave in my book. I don't have to agree with your whole life to support what you're trying to do in the now.

This guy is going after human trafficking like nobody has before him, all of whom knew how bad of a problem it is and sat on their hands.

Yep. This thread should've been tinderboxed long ago. It isn't about football. We have a spot for these types of discussions and it's not in this forum.
