Point noted.

That said, the tweet you referenced was sent hours after the OP made his statements and I asked for the source of the information.  Either (i) the OP has an incredible source of his own, or (ii) the info appeared somewhere else, or (iii) the original poster got lucky and got bailed out.

Is Charles Robinson a reliable source?

Wait, occurs to me there might be a 4th scenario, did Charles Robinson read the OP's message and run with it?

I'm sure you guys will clear it up...

it still has a months long recovery process and rivera was too busy trying to save his job

Are "minor procedure" and "months long recovery process" mutually exclusive?

Let me ask another way, what constitutes a "major procedure"?

What's the under/over on months of recovery that defines a "minor" procedure vs. a "major" procedure?

All he had done was a “clean-up” to take care of tissue that didn’t heal correctly and bone spurs that formed. Minimally invasive.

I’m expecting to see a much better looking Cam than the one we saw who could barely throw a 10 yard pass. All Cam haters will soon be asked to return to their respective closets.

I do not know if a concern over a potentially debilitating injury would classify someone as a hater, but if you only have 2 boxes, my concern was this--do you pay a running QB $25m to sit for a year and then pay him another $25m when his is 31...and then he could become a free agent.---it created a very difficult business decision because a $150m contract to a 31-year old QB who could have a shoulder issue would sink this team for half a decade ....if you separate the emotions from the logic, it was clearly a risky situation.

I am relieved to hear this.  I am also relieved to hear that they did not wait until March---in my opinion, they should have done the surgery in December when they benched him.

I hurt my shoulder by bowling too much one night. I couldn't throw overhand for 5 months without pain.  Shoulders are weird joints!

I suffered some sort of minor shoulder injury from ripping the ball from a dude while playing basketball two years ago. Not sure if it’s a small tear or joint issue, but I can feel it even as I type this.

Nagging injuries are a pain in the ass.

he's a connected nfl reporter and you're running with a conspiracy theory lol

No conspiracy theory here, simply facts.

The tweet did come after the OP posted and I asked him where he got his info, fact.

As such, the OP either (i) has an incredible source, (ii) guessed and got lucky, or (iii) the info was already out there somewhere else...

...or, (iv) Robinson too the OP's info and ran with it.  (all simple logic, but apparently not simple enough for you)

My guess is it's either (iii) or (iv) but I'll be darned if I can find ANY article out on Al Gore's big ol' internets that uses "bone spurs" as it relates to Cam's shoulder and most recent surgery.  Very possible I missed it.

The other thing that's interesting is, the specific language in the OP's post, and johnson's tweet, is close to identical...hmm...

lol

minor to me means a simple procedure with a reasonable expectation of recovery. length of time missed would vary by sport and position but wouldn't necessarily change the outlook.

i put "minor" in quotation marks early in this thread precisely for this line of questioning. is any surgery "minor"? it's all relative. but based on the information we have we can conclude that cam had a routine procedure and that he is on track to return in better health before the season kicks off in 2019. seems pretty minor to me. im sorry it's not what you were hoping to hear to but according to sources and cam's on words things are looking pretty good.

Could you be more vague?

I don't think you understand the definition of "routine".

you wanted this to be so much more than it is lol. sorry you're stuck with our mvp qb.

here's some more bad news for you:

https://amp.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article225337585.html?__twitter_impression=true

Total nonsense, I would never wish bad things or injuries on any athlete, period.

Interesting to note the phrase "bone spur" doesn't appear anywhere in that article.  Is it the case that there were no bone spurs?  Or is Rivera leaving out some key info?

Conclusion of the article seems to be the entirety of the problem was nothing more than a little bit of scar tissue....almost seems to good to be true....

is charles robinson lying? what about his source(s)? are they lying? it's been nothing but positive news following this minor procedure and i get it, you're not happy about it. but unless you want to provide some sort of evidence to contradict the overwhelming amount of positive news then i think we're done here.

You have one heck of an imagination.  Nobody said Robinson is "lying"...but he did specifically mention "bone spurs", and the official comment from a top Panthers official did not.

There are discrepancies here that (i) I find interesting, and (ii) seem to make you very uncomfortable.

I hope Cam comes back 100% with no further complications, period.

However, last time he went through this there was "nothing but positive news" as well, and well, we know how that worked out.

If you want to slurp up the pablum they are dishing out with no questions asked that's certainly your prerogative....me personally, I'm going to take a wait and see attitude.
