Hurney Sounds Like He's Ready For a Change

I actually want Fox back as well, but not Jake. Last night Hurney admitted that he felt like he hadn't done anything right. No way should we have given Jake such a huge contract.
:beatdeadhorse5: Are you kidding me. Fox is one of problems wrong with the panthers right now besides Jake. Fox has done a decent Job with carolina. But in reality Fox has never put back to back winning seasons and plus fox has made bad coaching decisions over the past few years. Him keeping Jake as starter and not going with someone else to try and spark this team is been a bad choice so far. Fox is not cutting it no more. Most of us want a coach who is going to come in here and bring a winning atttitude in here. The person to most likly fill that request the man himself is Bill Cowher. I am not saying Bill Cowher will be the first choice. But I think there is a reason why Bill Cowher over the past 2 years have turned down other teams offers to be Head Coach. Because I believe bill is waiting for the panthers job to open up and will call Jerry the day after Fox get fired and ask for the HC job.:sifone:

I'd like to have Bill Cowher as coach of the Panthers over Fox.

If Fox comes back next season (I think he will), then I'll be ok with that. If we can bring in a good QB, then we're a playoff team imo.

I was going to point out though... Remember after we signed Jake, during that off-season he was expected to be the starter, but during camp he kind of sucked and remained behind Rodney...

Then he came in and won the game against Jax. Suddenly, the coaches reason for him remaining the backup to that point was "he's not a practice player, he's better in games." Well, I have the feeling that Moore is a "better in games" guy.

I think they feel Moore's performance his rookie year was an aberration b/c he doesn't perform well in practice. But, everytime I've seen him in a game he looks like a player.

This. My sentiments exactly. :cornut:

No doubt Hurney has f'ed up big time, especially with Jake's contract. I still don't know the logic behind that, besides being a mutli-million pat on Jake's back. But, he could definitely earn some support by backing a change at QB.

We had to restructure his contract. He was going to get like 10 million this year. I don't know if we could of even paid Peppers the tender had we not restructured Jake's contract.

Yep, and now the best we can hope for is that Jake retires so we don't take a cap penalty by booting him or waste the space by benching him.

Jake starting at Arizona would be a complete disaster, he would have another "pick 6" game. He knows he's shot, and when a QB's confidence goes--he's done.

Jake should do the honorable thing and fall on the sword, otherwise he will be remembered as a chump.
