Kemba is coming into his own and his improvement each season is proof of that. He may not have made an All NBA team yet but I don't think he is far from making it. There are some great PGs in the league. Like I said previously, I think Kemba stays if the front office makes the right moves. Trading for a player like Bradley Beal or that caliber could be the difference. Somebody who can consistently score and take the pressure off Kemba. I'm not sure if they will pull it off but I won't count Mitch Kupchak out on making a deal. Kemba is worth paying the max if they can get complimentary pieces around him. It all depends on what deals could be made.

Agree, Kemba is "coming into his own".

Agree, he might make an All-NBA team this year.

Agree, there are some great point guards in the league.

None of that puts Kemba in the superstar category, he's not.

So you think Bradley Beal + a $221,000,000 5-year deal for Kemba is what they should do?

To be honest, I have zero faith in Michael Jordan "pulling off" anything "difference" making on the deal making front -- ever.  (and let's be clear, Kupchak has no autonomy, MJ still calls the shots....and there-in lay the problem)

Kemba would be a fool to stick around.

Took a look and Beal is scheduled to earn $27,093,019 in 2019.

If Kemba makes All-NBA and gets the max, he would be in line for $44,200,000yr for 5-years.

Combined that's $61,293,019 for 2019 alone (and Beal would only have 1 more year on his deal).

For 2019, between Biz - Nic - MKG - Cody - Marvin...Michael Jordan is on the hook for $85,000,000 (not to mention another $10 million to Malik - Miles - Willy - Devonte).

Add Kemba & Beal to the other big-5 and you get total of $146,293,019....

....problem is the salary cap is set to be $109,000,000.   Add in Malike & crew and Michael Jordan would be close to $50,000,000 over the salary cap.  (jeez, that's brutal)

How do you see that playing out?

NOTE: Biz and MKG do have player options for 2019 totaling $32 million but it's hard to see either of them opting out.

They would certainly have to move the bigger contracts. If they could trade Nic Batum and possible someone like Lamb (expiring) or Monk then that will cover Beal's salary. I'm sure they would want one of our good young players also. I would hate to see Lamb or Monk go but for someone like Beal it's worth it.

Zero chance.  In the NBA sending out the trash is a 2-way street....Jordan is gonna have to take some to get rid of his.

Even if they did get Beal I don't think it would work, he's good but not that good.  Two undersized guards paired up with a bunch of 3rd tier talent aren't going to get much done in this league.  Keep in mind the chilling effect the Bobcats seem to have on players who come here....Big Al was an exception.

Occurs to me, Big Al is the only Bobcats player I can ever remember making All-NBA since Jordan took over in 2006....and all Bobcats fans wanted to do was criticize him.   Maybe I missed someone else....

It's not a zero chance if the 2 teams have already been discussing it. I'm sure the Hornets front office has more knowledge on the cap situation then anyone on this board.

I have full confidence in Jordon...he wants to win and he will support any moves that Mitch makes to make us a winner

be assured there is a long term vision...just have to make the most of opportunities as they present themselves

and yes I am avoiding answering your question

This is either Fred Whitfield or Mike himself.  Lol

Fair enough, at least you're honest!

(but I'm taking the other side of your trade)
