Yeah well this is why you don't throw 50 million dollar contracts at human turnstiles. Pick your poison.

god, nothing like seeing the quotes from the vikes message boards about how bad he was and how thankful they were he was gone - right after we signed him.   that feeling sucks

Yes...he's turned out to be the Sean Gilbert of this millenia. I say if he's healthy and he's cheaper to keep....then I say we find a way to make use of him.  I don't care if he's playing every snap on scout team.  Come preseason....leave him out there the whole game.  He'll either get better with the reps and find his groove.....or he'll end up on IR again.

Moton is likely going to the left if we sign Williams and that takes care of the tackle starters. Then we need depth which could be Kalil but likely we cut our losses unless the offensive line coaches know something we don't know. Not sure what the huge concern seems to be.

this is how I would address the debacle at left tackle...

daft Williams replacement at RT  & then sign a RT with the most upside or potential after the 53 man cuts for competition purposes & then slide Moton over to  LT and let Matt Kalil take notes.

It’s absolutely ridiculous that this team has been so negligent in assembling a decent o-line for so many years. We had Gettleman who was supposed to be a “hog mollie” expert saying that Byron Bell(remember him) had “left tackle” feet and trying to convert guys like Chandler.

What a freaking joke

The Panther's have spent substantially more in draft picks and FA assets on defense over the 8 years of the Ron Rivera Regime than on offense.

I am not disagreeing with your premise above, all I want to know is WHY IS THE DEFENSE IN DESPERATE NEED OF A "SUBSTANTIAL OVERHAUL"????

Pretty sure that was Gettleman's first season where he was trying to find dimes and quarters under couch cushions because of the total horror the previous GM had left on the salary cap.

Oh, look... that same GM is back again.  Yay?

Definitely not happy Hurney is back , just frustrated that our o-line hasn’t been seriously addressed since Gross left

The Matt Kalil contract is the biggest question mark of the Panthers existence.  He had an injury history and we gave him a huge long-term contract that I'd imagine no other team would have given.  Did Ryan Kalil convince our guys he was good to go?  It just doesn't make sense to take on such a huge risk there for a guy that had been a shell of his former self.

Due to being stuck with Kahil's contract and having Moton, Williams, and Clark on the roster, I still believe interior OL and DE are bigger needs.

But Williams isn’t on the roster, he is a free agent.

Everyine keeps talking like he is but until he resigns our starting tackles are Khalil and Moton.

Under that assumption what is more important? Protecting our QB or getting after the others team’s QB.
