Holiday plays sg for the Pelicans, why his scoring average is up this season. Think Hornets would do the same thing as well. Also either or wouldn't be enough, 17 pick isn't that valuable so Monk would have to be included.

Holiday has one of the worst contracts at the point guard position, not a chance they get Monk and 17, it’s one or the other.

Holiday still has a lot of value despite his contract. Plays really good defense, 20 points, 8 assists and nearly 2 steals. So yea, monk for Jrue and the first for them taking Batum back.

Batum has no trade value and it will take multiple firsts or first and monk/bridges to move him no matter what's coming back. The cost of getting rid of Batum is a first and Monk. 17 alone isn't enough and no one worth it on the team outside of Monk, Bridges or Kemba to move him.

it's that bad.

Lamb and draft picks are the only value we should be looking at trading

Could Throw in frank

I'm really not down for trading first round picks, but I agree on Lamb. He's an expiring and I don't think we are going to be too concerned with paying him considering we'll likely be signing Kemba to a huge deal and be tight on cap space. He'd be good playoff depth and has that Connecticut connection with Kemba but... His defense is pretty trash and Monk has honestly looked more capable on offense in the last couple of weeks. Lamb's a solid scorer but Monk's better at facilitating and can get red hot. The only thing we'd really miss in Lamb would be his rebounding.

Frank is tradeable but I don't think his value is high enough to fetch more than a second rounder and at that rate I'd rather just save him for playoff depth in case of more injuries. Honestly might prefer to trade Willy. Bacon could be on the block. I like him but he's hard pressed to get minutes with how many players are ahead of him. Batum has looked way more aggressive recently and unless we get a great offer to unload him, I kind of want to just stick with our current group and see what we can do in the playoffs. I don't think going after Drummond or Holiday or Gasol are that worth it. Looking more and more like we're going to stay quiet at the deadline.

As stated before Lamb, Frank (expiring) and our first round draft pick are our only assets right now. Throwing in Herngomez for cap purposes might be an option as well.

I can see a trade going through but I expect it to be minor.

I could see something like Lamb, Frank, Hernangomez and a lottery protected first round pick traded to Milwaukee for Maker, DiVincenzo, and Ilyasova.

Basically it comes down to Lamb and Frank’s expiring $10M for a potentially really good player in Maker and a cap dump in Ilyasova. Also, due to the fact that the Hornets would need a backup shooting guard for Monk they send their first (which is looking like the 17th or 18th pick) for DiVencenzo.

The Hornets do this because it gives them assets for expiring contracts and they could pontentally land two good players in the deal who aren’t getting burn in Milwaukee. The Bucks do this because they save $11M in cap space and pick up a first round draft pick as well.

Line-Up

PG: Kemba Walker, Tony Parker, Devonte’ Graham

SG: Malik Monk, Donte DiVincenzo, Dwayne Bacon

SF: Nic Batum, Miles Bridges

PF: Marvin Williams, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Ersan Ilyasova

C: Cody Zeller, Thon Maker, Bismack Biyombo

Monk and MKG to Memphis for Gasol... can't believe that's even being talked about.

The only people talking about that are twitter nerds with no actually inside information.

Biz and Frank were the only two players mentioned by name by any actually nba insiders.

yea but those reports were garbage, no way biz or Frank gets that trade done when Kyle Lowry and a ton of other bigger names have been mentioned by NBA insiders already.

How many more good players is Philly gonna get?

tobias was awesome against us

They did give up quite a lot: Landry Shamet (who is a good young player), two first round picks (one via Miami), and two second round picks.

Muscala and Chandler were also included for cap purposes but they are throw aways.

This seems like a solid deal for both teams. If Philly can turn Fultz into another vet player they could make the NBA finals interesting. They are piling up quite the team with Embid, Butler, Simmons, Harris, and Redick along with Brewer and McConnell off the bench.
