We don't know if they did anything. Could have just looked around.

That was also one of my first reactions.  Also they quote say

The procedure was successfully performed

How do they know if it was successful if it was intended to get his shoulder back to what it was without a full season to see how it worked ?

Not gonna get my hopes up. At this point Cam’s shoulder gives me the same feels as Luke’s concussion issues i.e. it’s a ticking time bomb until further notice. Granted, Kuechly has been relatively healthy the past couple of seasons so here’s hoping that shoulder can stay right for an entire season.

All the more reason that o line needs to be top notch

enough of watching the franchise getting his brains knocked out and or protections that allow blitzes that are not picked up

I dont know who that is on...but that blitz in Steelers game by Watt was so obvious somebody should have called a time out

and in the next game the same blitz run was successful   I m like do they NOT watch film?

There will be tons of people acting like they're doctors on the Huddle this week and saying Cam will be back for training camp or Cam will never play again. Please note: not one of us has access to Cam's medical information and not one of us has any clue when Cam will be back until we get a timetable from him or the team.

One thing I know is that he want be accurate and will overthrow the receivers. His foot work and fundamentals haven’t improved in 8 years.

One day, you notice your car isn't running properly, so you take it to the best mechanic you can find.

He looks around in it, runs some diagnostics, makes a couple of adjustments here and there and then comes back and tells you he can't find anything wrong with it.

So you drive it off, and the second you leave you can tell it's still not running properly.

That happens a lot.

The human body is infinitely more complex than any automobile engine. And as knowledgeable as doctors may be, they're not all knowing or all seeing.

Lord knows everybody hopes that whatever is wrong with Newton's shoulder can be fixed, or has been fixed, or will be fixed, or something. But we also have to accept the possibility that it may just remain a mystery.

Gregory House doesn't exist, and some problems don't get solved in an hour...or ever.

The whole it should have happened earlier is likely off base. Before any surgery you have to allow inflammation to subside which can take days or weeks. Then you have to decide if surgery is needed. If he had no structural damage then the most likely surgery was to clean up any scar tissue or fix some minor issue which developed as a result of the original surgery or wear and tear which was the source of the pain

I doubt they waited too long. The tendency for most athletes is to get surgeries quicker than the average person to promote quicker recovery  versus letting things rest. How many times do they put pins and rods in simple fractures to speed the process when most folks just wait until it mends on it's on.
