New Orleans fans are so upset because they are done

Many of you have too much faith in the Saints to continue success. This year is the first year in their history, since 1967, that they won a division back to back. Even under Payton and Brees they have a history of losing seasons sandwiched between winning ones just like us. This is the NFC South remember. The Saints have seen much fortune in the past 2 years. It's likely that fortune leaks out. They aren't the Patriots. Nowhere close. They're not even at our level 2013-15.

Other than Ingram they’ll essentially be fielding the exact same team.

They can also simply kick the can down the road one more year with Brees.

Leave it up to the Huddle to do no research and celebrate prematurely.

Yeah I looked at this the other day.  I think Ingram and Bushrod the OL are the only 2 they are loosing.  The rest are trash.  And we all know Peyton has the knack a picking RB’s off the scrap pile and scheming them to be effective.

Brees is playing as well as ever and still wants to play...

Could be just a coincidence, but if you look at Bree's last 6 or 7 games, he didn't play that well, at least not in comparison to what he was doing earlier in the season.  7 interceptions for the entire season, and 6 of them were in in last 6 games.  More sacks, fewer td's etc.  He still looked better than a lot of qb's, just not as good as he was before.  Part of that was that the Saints oline struggled, but if that trend continues, then it will be good for us.

And fwiw, their offense looked very bad against us in BOA.  Unfortunately, ours looked even worse.

You are on the thin line of laying p[ersonal attacks because you disagree with my post. Careful now...MFCEO has a strict policy and a pinned thread.

We dont even know if our QB can play next season due to shoulder injury. If that isnt enough to tell you that we may have some serious issues, im not sure what you need to hear otherwise. NO QB is healthy. Ours is not. Its not a question for argument~

I wasn't in the mood for personal attacks, but since the consequences are meaningless to me, I care very little about this forum in general, and you're practically begging for it...........

You.  Are.  A. Clueless. Manchild.

Drew Brees has shown us time and time again that he can't make the playoffs without a strong supporting cast.  Brees being healthy has nothing to do with how well that team will perform.  They've had 6 .500 or worse seasons under Brees, and have only won the division 5 times in 13 years.  If the team around him sucks because they don't have money, the Saints will also suck.

That is not a "question for argument" either.

I agree.  The draft from 2018 was excellent--especially if Gaulden, Carter, and Smith step up.  I have not given up on Haynes either---sorta reminds me of Addison.who was 6-3 245 at Troy,  He needs to gain 15 lbs and be given time to grow.

Lotta people are down on Gaulden--and I see why.  However, he was drafted as a project.

Way to early to give up on Gaulden.  He'll have year under his belt and will get stronger in a full off season.  As long as we don't change our scheme he'll be better.   Smith and Carter have huge upsides and like Gaulden a full off-season workouts will help them a lot.

I think some fan's expectations for Gaulden were way too high.  He was brought in as a project.  In fairness though, I think a large part of the problem is not so much Gaulden himself, but that they thought other guys would have been better picks.  And they may be right in the short term, but the team clearly thinks Gaulden was the best option for the long haul.  Of course, conversion projects are always risky.  But if it pays off, then it can be big for us.

They can easily extend him and kick the can down the road. In 2019, unless Brees truly degrades, they are still going to be a playoff contender. After he goes, then they’re a different team. We saw Bridgewater first hand with the starters and it wasn’t pretty.

But... but... what about that QB they have that the NFL media felates that does Cam-things about 1/2 as good as Cam does?

I think its really cute you start with a notion of being some type of sacrificial lamb and sending a big fug you to the forum and its moderators. If I may suggest, just GTFO if you care so little about this space.

But seriously I have to ask you sir: What QB does not rely on a strong supporting cast? I don't mean insult but i wonder...are we talking about the same sport? You do certainly realize this is a TEAM game, and every QB needs a good supporting cast on both sides of the ball to get to the playoffs?  Granted I am not a member of MENSA but please enlighten us on how Brees in your post is different that any other QB in the league.

You can look at past history of their team...or our team. You can quote all the stats you want. The one thing you cannot deny however is exactly what I said that got you this heated and extra. Their QB is healthy. Ours is not. Noone knows what will happen next season. Sure, i will give you that ( not that i should because its a given..but i'll stroke your ego and say you are correct) .

But if you cant acknowledge that our QB just has surgery, and will be in rehab all spring, may or may not be at OTA's, and more of less gimp...while Brees isn't having surgery, isn't going to be gimp...isn't going to be sore, can be at OTA's is he chooses, and more or less can do whatever the fug he wants because his shoulder isnt in recovery....Bro...if you cant see this difference, well...i hope the best for you!

Remember when they were something like 25M over the cap and we thought they were going to be garbage only to nail it in the draft and win the division?

Yea... I'm not counting my chickens quite yet

Without a most excellent draft, and a FA or 2 we will continue to struggle. as usual.

why? the fuging FO.

say what you want about him, but Payton is and has proved, he's damn good at rebuilding quickly.
