New Orleans fans are so upset because they are done

The reality is that we don't need Superman to run this offense. We all want Cam back 100% healthy and ready to go but Allen showed this offense is quarterback friendly and with more play makers on offense and emphasis on building the defense we should be in the playoffs. Brees had a fantastic year but he is showing cracks and slowing down. He scored a total of 12 points against us in our first meeting with a suspect defense. Brees may be healthy but he is approaching 40 and father times waits for no man. You appear to be a closet Saints fan so be it, but the idea that New Orleans and their win it all now philosophy is not better than Tepper's philosophy to play for the long game. Let's remember that before the last 2 years, the Saints had 3 losing seasons in a row. Their winning streak seems more of an exception than the rule and it is coming to an end

I dont care about the Saints win/loss history. This thread was about making fun of the salary cap hell they will find themselves in. I merely pointed out that we also do not have a rosy salary cap situation. ON top of that, even if Brees is not playing at the level he was a few years ago, he is healthy and playing. Cam is not.

Forgive me if the celebration of another teams cap hell went over my head as our own team isnt even sure we will have a QB next year. A good portion of this forum were in favor of sitting Cam for ALL of 2019. Cap problems by either team can me managed with some finesse. Cam being injured and possibly missing some or all of next year is FAR more serious.

Actually ours isn't that bad. And as I said we haven't even looked at all the money we can save simply by restructuring Cam and Luke who account for 40 million of our 2019 cap. News Orleans needs to restructure contracts simply to get to where we are in cap space now. We can easily do the same kind of restructuring and add 20-25 million more in cap space. The biggest unknown is Cam but I am confident that we will have a good back up plan in place. I don't know why everyone is so gloom and doom and the 2018 season is still going on. Cam was a huge part of our offense in the past but he had his best year statistically with a bum shoulder that Norv game planned around most of the year.  We are not in serious trouble. Let's be real Cam's shoulder is not structurally damaged. If the pain is caused by scar tissue there is surely hope that it can be resolved. I will save all my sky is falling posts until there is actually something bad to report. Until then it is doom and gloom speculation on your part

You are on the thin line of laying p[ersonal attacks because you disagree with my post. Careful now...MFCEO has a strict policy and a pinned thread.

We dont even know if our QB can play next season due to shoulder injury. If that isnt enough to tell you that we may have some serious issues, im not sure what you need to hear otherwise. NO QB is healthy. Ours is not. Its not a question for argument~

You cry so much about personal attacks. Even when people aren't attacking you

You are not wrong, but all of the " we can" do this, or " we might be able" to do that...or "so and so might restructure"..and all the other ifs and conditionals you just said there...are exactly true for the Saints and any other team out there. Which is why I question the celebration by our fans about them! We mightr be able to do x. They might be able to do y. All of that aside their QB is healthy. Ours is not.  Will Cam be ok for 2019? I sure hope so. At this point in time however, the celebrations about another teams cap hell and demise is premature. I know its not popular to point it out, but I did.

I believe Igo said the following - "In other words, stick to football and be nice"

Now you are not replying to me to be nice, and you are not talking about football in this reply.

I am asking you to leave my name out of your mouth unless you want to address a specific post i made about football. You haven't done that. You are free to continue to stalk my posts as you do and give that meaningless poo until your heart is full of joy that you did so.

Brees cap figure for this year is 33 million give or take. A healthy Brees will always give them a few wins but with 0 cap space and 22 FA they have to replace it’s going to  be tough.

In comparison, we have 25 million and will undoubtedly create 20-30 million more soon. Cam may or may not be healthy for this coming season,.. but I’m sure we will put a viable quarterback caretaker in place and strengthen our weaknesses in between.

we have $100 million for 2020.

in short— our future is brighter than the Saints.

maybe not as much as the Colts who have $120 million this year and a team that just got its QB back, a viable back up on the cheap and just went to the playoffs.

but still brighter than the Saints.

that is all

"Done" is a bit much. Brees will return and they have a good core of young, talented players. New Orleans will be a serious contender as long as Brees is around or stays healthy.

I suspect you will see them take a big step backwards when he retires. I very much look forward to the "Taysom Hill" experiment that ends Sean Payton's coaching career.

There is a big difference in that they have been spending a lot of money with free agents,  restructuring a bunch of guys constantly kicking the cap hit down the road trying to win now. Eventually it catches up to any team and it is going to hit New Orleans in the next few seasons.  As the money runs out, the talent will as well. I know folks keep saying that but let's be real. Brees is the only thing making them look better than they are. Once he retires they are going to replace Tampa at the bottom. And actually there is never a bad time to celebrate another teams misfortune. It isn't like they aren't doing the same. You think they feel sorry for us about Cam's struggles.

Brees is playing as well as ever and still wants to play...

They're hitting home runs in the draft...

Their coaching is top notch, despite douchebag personalities...

The'yre 4-1 vs. the Panthers in the last two seasons IF you want to count our pee wee 4th stringers beating them winning a -10 draft pick...

And people think we're in a better position than them? Every years they seem to be out of money and fading yet not really. The Saints are in a much much better position than the Panthers for next year and probably the year after that. lol homers
