I think that is maybe one of the saddest parts of the show is that Roland and Tom never were able to be a couple, the times and the location in the country.    They were both lonely, Roland I'm guessing his whole life in that regard.

I really liked the scene outside the bar where the stray comes up. It was the perfect metaphor for Roland's character. He's a stray dog.

Right, and that was when he realized he could at least find SOME companionship with dogs.      When he offers to stay with Wayne a few nights, it's to help Wayne but also help himself.

I can't agree with you there. While Dorff played his part perfectly he didn't have THAT SCENE. Ali had multiple. Now perhaps that's the fault of the writer's but I definitely wanted to see a love scene with Roland and Tommy. I felt like that was missing.

you didnt enjoy that seen between Droff and Ali in last 10 mins of episode 5? that was my scene.

I never said I didn't enjoy it. I just didn't think Dorff had THAT SCENE. That character making scene. The bar fight/dog scene is closest it comes to the audience seeing his frustration and loneliness. But I was looking for something more and again that comes down to the writing and not Dorff. It's also hard to shine alongside Ali.

Talked to @Dex about this a little last night after I finished E8, I enjoyed the season, not S1 good but far superior to S2.  It was a little dialogue heavy at times but overall it was great.  Agree 1000% on the acting and also about Carmen Ejogo, drop dead gorgeous.

@Dex your point about Tom and Roland is well made, that storyline would have made a lot of sense esp given Roland's breakdown.

The finale wasn't up to par with the rest of the show...  they missed some opportunities and really should have ended it when Henry put the note in his pocket.

It felt like the last 10 minutes were kind of tacked on... weird.
