Big oof at that finale....

Happy Ali won an Oscar tonight though. The man is incredible.

Yea I wasn't too thrilled with the ending.  Is his son in on it?  Going to continue the investigation?  WTF?

Also, Ali was a point guard for St. Mary's back in the day.. before he changed his last name.

His son probably gave it to his girlfriend, the documentary creator.

But I hope somehow Roland knows the truth so he doesn't carry that weight.

I think this show will definitely be up for rewards though, the acting of the main three was superb.

Acting was top notch. The storyline ended up being a Hallmark MOW outside of the season 1 red herring. This season was about the characters and in that light it certainly delivered. Just spoiled after season 1. Nothing will ever come close to that masterpiece imo.

There was a lot of sadness in this movie, I wouldn't say it was a Hallmark movie lol.    I mean lots of death in Hoyt family and tragedy.    Lots of death for the family of the kids'.     The mother literally selling her kids because she was so addicted to drugs.    Marriage issues, etc.      Trying to convey how dementia/Alzheimer disease takes a hold of someone and how their family deals with it.    And I'm pretty sure Roland was in love with Tom and maybe vice versa but neither could come out because of the times and whatnot just like so many other people, then and still today.      I just wouldn't say that just because one good thing happened on a show in the middle of a ton of terrible things makes it like that, plus if she was indeed dead everyone would have seen that coming and would be like "oh I figured".

You literally just described a Hallmark MOW. Hoping Pizzolatto can step it up next season and return to that season 1 grittiness.

Well I haven't watched a Hallmark movie in a long time so I guess I didn't know they were filled with death and all this stuff and children being stolen lol.

Every single one. Don't forget the guy with a dark past who refuses to open up and show his emotional side until a traumatic event breaks him and he finally lets the girl in. This season's storyline was weak.

Season 3 escapes condemnation by me solely because of the outstanding performances from the leads. Also Carmen Ejogo might be one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen.

I hope Dorff gets some more main character roles after this.    And yes about Carmen lol.

Carmen Ejogo is freaking 45! i was crushing on her hard. anyway I really enjoyed season 3 but the shuttler island ending was disappointing. I was thinking when he gave Mikes address to his son he was going to toss it in to a dresser full of the same address like he had solved the case over and over.

I wasn't wild about the end of season one either, so I saw an underwhelming ending coming a mile away. It's almost impossible to have a 'great ending' when you build a complex story like that. I'm glad he doesn't go the route of a magical ending, or deus ex machina. I also wonder if the way we view television has changed our ability to be 'satisfied' with a somewhat close-ended story. These days almost every television show ends on a cliffhanger/mystery that is quickly resolved the following week, that only exists to get you to binge along to the next episode. I think our brains are now conditioned to expect that from everything we watch, so there's a level of disappointment when we don't get it.

I liked a lot about this season. It returned to a lot of the themes of the first season, which is what I'd wanted from season two. Great performances all around.

That was ending I was waiting for too. Also that's unreal, she is a stunner and looks exactly like my ex which is why I was feeling her.

    • I think a lot of wrs are going to go in the second round before we pick.  There are a lot of wr needy teams.  I think there will be a big run on them in the late 30s and 40s.
    • Interesting that they met with Walker three times and Cam Jackson twice.
