The Panthers ultimately chose to begin an era without Thomas Davis, it's as simple as that. It would hurt me to see him in another uniform, especially the Saints, but just because we made the decision to move on doesn't mean his life is now effectively over. Some of you really need to take a step back and ponder why you think you own these guys or something.

I think it'll be a huge priority for him to be on a contending team.  Thus, the Bills are out.  Saints unfortunately make too much sense, along with Rams, Chiefs, maybe even Steelers

I’m not really too worried about TD going to any rival.  He’s an average linebacker at this point let’s be honest with ourselves.

If he goes to a rival out of spite then he wasn’t ever a real friend. He can go and never come back. We need to get some new players who will put these defectors to the saints on the retirement couch. Ginn, Klein, and Coleman can all get fuged.

Im not too worried about Davis' impact on the field. It will be what he brings to the film room and pre-game planning to a rival which will be scary

You seem to be describing a coaching job there.  Why would a team use a valuable roster spot on a coach?

Too many fans forget that this is their job. Just like most people, most players tend to work for the organization willing to compensate them the best.

A player can bring valuable information to another team in terms of what type of plays a team runs, tendencies they have, and how players play.

Didn't Mongo McMichael spend something like 15 years in Chicago and then sign with Green Bay his final year?

Lord knows there been plenty of fanbases that have seen well known and loved players finish their career somewhere else.

Heck, it's not like Davis is even the first for us.

I'm a vengeful asshole. If I got tossed put by a team I'd be TRYING to go to a divsional rival.

Understood, and agree. 

But if PED58 isn't going to play why waste a valuable roster spot on him?  Pay him a commensurate salary and give him a clipboard and leave the roster spots for those expected to play.

Don't be surprised if the Saints go after him. Team him up with Klein who knows TD well and would work well with him.  

No Doubt that they would love to use him against us twice a year for a year or so.
