I'm sure we as a fanbase wouldn't just take the L and move on. We would be bitching about it years later. Lawsuit is stupid, but the NFL really needs to figure out a way to not let a game be won/loss by a horrifically moronic call/no-call. Officiating has really become a laughing stock.

I mean I understand being upset and angry over the outcome. Hell I'm sure most Panther fans, me included, are still salty over SB50 and how that turned out. But just stuff like this screams of being ludicrously petulant

But I do agree the NFL does need to fix it's officiating. It seems it has gotten progressively worse over the years. Either star fining referees for terrible calls or just something so that they are help more accountable for their decisions during the game.

Problem is that buying a season ticket doesn't give you the right to a fair game with no mistakes simply a seat and entrance into the game which they got. This fairness thing that people have these days is so overblown. This suit has zero chance to go anywhere

You buy a ticket to see a game.  You don't have an implied warranty that you will like the outcome, the quality of the officiating, the quality of play, the quality of the coaching, the weather conditions, or if you think the game was fair.

Before dismissing the case as nonsense and outside of the court's jurisdiction, the judge may want to ask if he intends to file a suit against Sean Payton for malpractice over the poor clock management, as well.  Or against Brees for the OT interception.

My guess is the attorney is showboating, and not as stupid as this would make him appear outside of NOLA.  The judge needs to deal with that by sticking his/her foot up his backside when the dismissal is ordered.

Saints fans are not going to let up on this and many are saying they will keep this going for next few weeks with the whining and crying about the game was unfair. Here are some comments from the fans.

"The point of the lawsuit isn’t to get money. It’s to get a New Orleans judge to file an injunction AGAINST PLAYING THE SUPER BOWL. Even if the judge makes such a preposterous ruling, it’s TERRIBLE publicity for the NFL. It might cause them to invoke Rule 17."

"I imagine they didn't make a statement b/c they expected a lawsuit to come esp. once the rule 17 stuff came up (which you have to keep reading... the commish can't restart the game over a bad "judgment call" penalty or non-penalty)."

"Just heard on wwl that there is a court date for Monday about this. Cant wait for Goodell to have to answer questions and hopefully the game cant be replayed. I'm not optimistic but at least someone is trying to do something about it!"

"I agree with you. I want it to overshadow the Superbowl big time, so let's all keep it fresh. Next season will be "Revenge" season and someone needs to make some shirts that says "We will never forget!."

" Ref gate showing they paid that ref. McVay banned from the NFL for life."

LOL @ them, the NFL is an entertainment company.    Suing them would be like suing WCW when Hulk Hogan joined the NWO and ruined all childhood dreams.      All you get with a ticket is entrance and a football game.

See this is 100 percent true but the WWF/WWE actually say were an entertainment company.

NFL only says its an entertainment company in there credits

.Fox sports welcomes you to the following presentation of the National Football League.

Fun fact: NFL commissioner Roger Goodell actually does have the power to do this.

Goodell could call for the game to be replayed, or he could simply reverse the result and say the Saints won.

I'd pretty much bet a year's salary that he won't, but he could.

(kinda scary to think he has that kind of power)
