I'm sure Luke can play well in either system.  I'm just not sure how logical it is to have that much of your cap tied up in your two Inside Linebackers in a 3-4.

Its not just that we play a 4-3, but the fact we play a lot of Tampa 2 coverage, that places a lot of value on Luke.

That's a point where I'd question whether you were making the best use of your resources.

During his rookie season, Luke got stuck at OLB for a while. It wasn't that great.

If I'm being honest, I think we're kind of grasping at straws here.

I've seen plenty of people in the past talk about switching to 3-4 as if it was the cure for everything that ails us.

Could it work? Sure, but it's no magic bullet.

I think we could just as easily stick with the 4-3 we just got younger, especially up front.

Wow I actually agree with Scot

Would help the pass rush situation but run defense may suffer badly, definitely would help Shaq out since I think he excels in pass rushing situations, would be excited but wouldn’t be thrilled when teams cram it down our throat

Shaq would be crushed.. He already doesn't like facing OG in the 43 .. He would have to face them more often in a 34.. Shaq isn't big enough nor is he physically enough to play a 34..

I just don't see this as a smart move for a coaching staff and FO looking to hold on to their jobs..

We don't have any 3/4 OLB on the roster..

We would still need to add some DE's as well..

If this doesn't work Tepper must already have a 3/4 coach in mind to finish the scheme change.. Because this will take a few years to actually work.

That kind of change doesn't happen overnight, it takes a couple of seasons. But our D couldn't be much worse than it was last year.

Nice point---did we already start it last year?  (Haynes, for example).

I would argue that it is easier to find pass rushers in the 34.  I am not much of an expert though, and will look into it--love to see how many players would make the transition.

So many changes---desperation?  Excuses?  If your job was on the line, would you switch D now?

I would do whatever I thought would turn this thing around. Our DL is ancient by NFL standards and we're virtually devoid of pass rushers. I'd be looking at this pending FA class and draft class and trying to figure out how I could fix this D the quickest. If that means 3-4 then that's what I'd do.
