If you have a legitimate stud like a Bradbury fall to the bottom of the 2nd.  You make a play for him

Its the issue.

Would you like a Dollar and 2 quarters

Or

A Dollar, Quarter, and 2 dimes

Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd round pick.  And im sure no one would think twice to give up 2 thirds for a Good Starting calibre Center.

I know you like Bradbury, he won the award for top college center last year also. In addition, he’s a Tar Heel, so I would be happy if we got him in the draft.

 But a trade up?

Looking at the roster I just see so many holes which need improving. Add to that, we have a workable solution in Larsen, and yeah I get that ideally we want our Kalil replacement.

Nothing against Bradbury but a trade up seems like overpay to me.

Bradbury plays for NC State, not UNC.

We should have traded 85 and this years 4th to move up for Justin Reid last year.

That would have been nice. I liked Reid. Definitely wouldn’t have minded trading up for him rather than waste it on Gaulden. Knowing we had the extra 3rd for Norwell, I would have moved up.

I just didn't understand the Gaulden pick. Why pick the least athletic DB in the entire draft in the 3rd round?

Yep. Norwells comp pick factored big in my thoughts. I was ready as soon as DJ was announced. Would have given our 3rd this year if that’s what it took. We needed a starter quality S. Not a senior citizen or a backup from another team. A special teamer and a project. That’s one hell of a position group.

I think sometimes coaches and GMs go out of their way to try and prove they are smarter than every other coach and GM, so they make a choice that is somewhat against the popular opinion.

Then the one time it works they can point it out but they conveniently forget about the 9000 times it doesn't.
