The Penn State Cb I can’t pronounce

Corey Ballantine- CB. Small school but looked good on film

Tyre Brady. Said to fit real well in a Coryell system.

The Penn State CB had a real rough day tuesday and got dinged up I believe Wed.  Will definitely keep a eye on him

Only 2 non P5 WR that have stood out so far have been the Buffalo kid and Andy Isabella.  Will look out for Brady.

Here is Isabella the other day fwiw

He said in the interview portion he is 4.26 laser timed

Denzel Ward posted a 4.32 at the combine last year btw

Kid has been a fire cracker in practices

Yeah I noticed that also.  He does make disclaimer that he is learning a lot of the guys on the fly.  He likes it that way so he doesn’t have preconceived notions beforehand and let’s the work speak for itself.  He not wrong that sweat needs to learn a lot.  But he also said multiple times that once he gets to the league Sweat’s  measurables  are going to help him a ton. Especially his arm length. Also Dalton did shut Sweat down during their game this year.   So I agree with Voch that he needs a lot of work.   I’m still high on Sweat.

Here is another interesting tweet from Matt Miller today on Sweat:

Why should players come to the @seniorbowl?

Montez Sweat was a solid tier 2 edge rusher with nice traits before this week. After interviews and a dominant practice he's receiving top 10 talk from scouts.

Come compete and you might just make a few million while you're at it.

Yeah, he brings perspective, and admittedly, he does see things better than I do.  So, he's definitely worth paying attention to as a piece of the puzzle.  There are quite a few guys out there making evaluation videos, and it's clear some know what their looking at while other are just fans trying to make a buck with a YouTube channel while only giving superficial evaluations that any fan can see.

Voch does seem like he understands the nuances better than a lot of them.  I just think he needs to a) look at a bigger sample size before giving such a strong evaluation, and b) know who the player he is evaluating is going against.  It makes a big difference if it's against a future 1st round pick or some scrub.

Now, I do agree with much of his evaluation, to a point.  But I've looked at some other videos of Sweat, and he did a very good job on many of the things Voch knocked him on.  K State was not Sweat's best game.  His lack of size and strength showed against Risner, so there is definitely improvement needed.  But looking at other games shows that Sweat can disengage and he has very good bend...something Daniel Jeremiah was raving about in the Senior Bowl practices.  I do think with a larger sample size, Voch probably wouldn't have been quite so harsh.

Said we need him losing Pep etc.

He looked shocked and told me, "you honestly think Pep isnt going to be there"

Just watched some tape on Eric McCoy C from Texas A&M.  I really like him.  Manhandled Kentucky NT by himself.  Had a bunch of good reach blocks.  Getting him in the 3rd would be great so that we can save our 2nd round for something else.  Jenkins and Bradberry are projected 2nd.  Jenkins is a mauler and pretty good. But plays soft some times. Bradberry fits zone blocking schemes better and needs to add strength.  I think he will be good long term.  But for value I will take McCoy.

Big Kid

Standing beside him then Bradbury yesterday.

McCoy has a OG body.  He was mauling people in run blocking this.

While Bradbury imo had the higher ceiling. Much quicker out of the snap read well moved well picking up blocks.  Just still needs to gain strength.  Got pushed back a good bit on bull rushes.  You heard about Wren needing double team.  That was part of the reason why.

Bradbury really wants to be a panther though.  He really lit up when he saw my panthers shirt

These are the guys who showed enough leadership this week to be named captains.  Sweat, Adderly, and Bradberry would all look good in Panthers uniforms.
