Week-to_week line of credit funding observations are accurate.  My prediction is the "patents and app for betting purposes" story being floated out there by media is complete BS.

Technology investors are accustomed to long lead times and multiple rounds of dilution, if there were any real technology on the gambling side new investors would be lining up....  (vs. the whole gig going into the dumper in 6 weeks)

The app was pretty spectacular, live tracking of players and the ball along with voting on next play. Easily transferable to betting on a similar app comparable to draft Kings...ext..

Now because of his 70m investment he owns the app and the patients to Said app. So no one would be able to come in and provide money in the hopes of having some control over the technology factor, it would've been just the league getting funded. Dunden by pulling the money killed the league and gave them no hopes of refunding. Really smart move if he was in it for the app.

I thought from what I had heard of Dundon from those more in-tune with the Hurricanes that he was a cool, progressive, forward-thinking, fun owner...  but, this stunt he pulled with the AAF just makes me think he's a complete asshole.

From all the interviews I heard before the league started from Ebersol and Polian, I was sure this league would make it at least a few years...  they were innovative and most of all respected the NFL as the superior product, so they stayed in their lane...  I really do believe Dundon took over simply for the app and then let the league run itself into the ground while letting the peons clean up his mess.

Meanwhile:

I don't understand why people blame Dundon. Try living above your means and rack up credit card debt. When it comes time to pay, where will the money come from? This things was bleeding money and the organizations were spending, as if they were on NFL budgets ... duh !!! We know the NFL prints money.

It is very clear, many of their assumptions were simply wrong or misguided. They were hoping for massive crowds and big numbers on TV. Nobody in the stadiums, because nobody knew who the players were. Hell, Manziel was signed to try and save the league. Most QBs were failures in the NFL that nobody wanted to see . Seriously ... would you pay to watch Christian Hackernberg play football?

Without NFL players, this was not going to work.

Because Dundon promised 250M, but only gave 70M and never followed through on the rest...  he left team staffs and players out to dry.

And from what I've read, he knew it was a long-term build to profit and stability when he bought in, but then it appears he purposely sabotaged it so he could get out and leave others with the bill.  Fir instance, from what I read, the AAF promised the broadcasters could keep all profits from year 1, I guess as like a gesture of goodwill and to prove they were viable and worth the networks paying for after this season.  They were doing great numbers all things considered...  but Dundon pushed the issue and started making threats to the NFL, trying to speed up the process that Polian and Ebersol were planning to come to fruition in three years.

From everything I've read, he just appeared to sabotage it so he could get out of it instead of following a promising business plan that would eventually turn the endeavor profitable...

But, he essentially did exactly what Trump did with the USFL once he took over...  and that has nothing to do with politics.
