His 2.8 ypc would have carried us to the playoffs.

His team is in the Super Bowl, and he did a whole lot to help it happen.

Cutting him was a stupid decision. The whole world can see that now.

If you want to look like an idiot by continuing to defend that move, your choice

I'm not defending the move, knucklehead. Thinking he would have carried us to the playoffs is 100% idiotic.

Yeah, having another great player in a position of depth is never a good thing. How could that possibly have helped us be a better team? :eyeroll:

And hey, it's not like Rivera said he thought it would be a great idea to have someone share carries with McCaffrey next year... Oh wait, he did

The move is the issue. What happened after just makes it look worse. We paid money to get worse as a team. While giving away our only insurance policy for a CMC injury.

Continued incompetence from the people in charge of this team.

Yeah, yeah.

Yes or no: Would we have made the playoffs if we kept Anderson?

Did we get worse after releasing Steve Smith?

Maybe. There's no way to know.

What we do know is that the move made our team worse and actually decreased our available salary cap.

We also know that CJ Anderson went on to prove just how much he could contribute to a team's offense.

And we know now that there's a whole lot of people looking at how the season turned out and saying "Boy, how stupid are the Panthers?"

Meanwhile, you keep trying to say that it's no big deal because you don't want Marty Hurney to look bad.

Pretty dimwitted, if you ask me...

Why is this such a big topic? Running Back was the least of our worries (even after releasing Anderson).

Looks like you and a few just want a reason to complain.

One, did we release Smith in week 10 with a 6-3 record? No. This is not close to the same thing.

And what does Steve Smith, or any other move ever made, have to do with THIS mistake by the current GM/HC?

And if this was any other GM besides Hurney, you would be first in line to bash them. You just don’t like hearing reality when It comes to Marty.
