Bigger than cutting CJ Anderson?

Or having no depth at outside corner?

Or having no legit backup to Cam knowing that he was injured, getting older, and we had a veteran team ready for a playoff push?

Or actually extending Gano after he made the dumb call to keep him over the cheap kicker on a 4 year deal?

I feel like a goofy announcer voice should pop up and say "But wait, there's more".

Of course.  CJ was the staff's mistake, primarily Turner's.  We weren't going to use him unless cmc went down (and maybe not even then).  If we weren't going to use him, then there was no point in keeping him.

Butker was a long term solution that cost us less money in the short term.  Keep him and we might have the kicker spot in good shape for the next 15 years.

It's all technically on the staff.

Rivera and Hurney make decisions together, same as Rivera and Gettleman did.

When it was Gettleman and Rivera, we had the most consistent success of any period In team history.

Hurney and Rivera can't even manage a 500 record.

That really wasn't really the questions I was asking.  Do you feel like RR and DG disagreed on personnel decisions more that RR and Hurney?

Pure speculation on my part, but I could see DG wanting to keep Butker but maybe RR wanted to keep Gano but I could see Hurney giving into RR more.

He didn’t use a draft pick on a PK for nothing. Ties him up cheap for an extra year over an UDFA.

That's actually kind of what I was getting at.

The synergy between them clearly worked better.
