At full speed I can see how there could have been some uncertainty about whether the defender made contact early. If they refs are unsure, it makes sense to err on the side of swallowing the whistle so they don't decide the fate of the game. That would be the lesser of two mistakes. Call an errant pass interference and you gift the game to the saints. But if you miss the penalty, the Saints still get a chance to stop the rams from scoring to win the game. 

Unfortunately in slow motion, the missed call looks incredibly egregious. Took a lot of joy out of the win for me. I remember jumping up and down, screaming with happiness when the Vikings completed their miracle play. No such delight tonight.

I hope our staff was watching closely to these games. It’s a completely offensive league. We better figure out how to put 40 on the board every week next year. 

Thos may be a defensive draft we need to shore up our offensive line and get some more offensive parts or we are going nowhere.

And full-HD replays at a bazillion frames per second from a gazillion camera angles. And 3 assistant producers eyeballing every play for newsworthy reffing fails. I'd hate to be a zebra these days.
