This guy checks two boxes in my now obsolete receiver coach thread.

One, he's an old (albeit brief) colleague of Norv Turner.

Two, and more importantly, he's not a threat to challenge Scott for the OC job once Norv moves on.

I think it's pretty clear Norv is grooming Scott to succeed him.

Don’t know anything about him and didn’t follow the teams he was on as a WR coach much so can’t say much about WRs he coached but his longest stint was with the Ravens for 6 years from 2008-2013 as WR coach and in those years the team was 62-34 and won at least one playoff game every year except the last one and won a SB. That is an extremely successful organization and they deemed him to be a worthy part of it for that stretch so he can’t be that bad...

I’m intrigued by Scott’s future. Kinda like Kyle Shanahan as an OC (jury is still very much out as a HC)... Not sure if it’ll be here or elsewhere but very curious to see how his career progresses.

If you judge him by Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen, he's not doing too bad so far.

The thing about Scott though, like others who have been in similar situations, is you have to ask how much is him and how much is his mentor/dad.

Some people get so caught up on race---it really does not matter.  If anyone is suggesting that only a black can coach a black athlete, he probably needs to tell Secretariat's trainer that he was never a horse or all those old, white, middle aged, male Romanian gymnastic coaches that they were never teenage girls.

You probably do not stay in the league for  16 years if you suck.
