Did Cam Newton tank the 2018 season to get rid of Rivera?

We couldn't of just simply lost because we didn't execute at crucial times?

No we can't. If there is nothing wrong with Cam's shoulder, as you insist. Then he tried a power move on the Coach and why should I trust him?

General soreness.

Why does Cam have to be the reason for why we started losing? Why can't it be the fact that Funchess, two rookies, and no Olsen were being asked to threaten defenses down the field? or the fact that our defense couldn't get off the field thanks to a 29th ranked pass defense?

Our team the last 8 games would not have been any better with any other QB - QB was not the teams biggest problem for why we were losing.

or that Cam couldn't throw the ball 30 yards. nope it's everybody else.

You fuging act like we have bonafide receivers that are savvy enough to consistently beat teams deep. And even if they consistently did beat teams deep, our offensive line wouldn't consistently hold up for deep routes, so what the fug is the point?

Our two best wide receivers were effectively rookies for fugs sake.

Kyle Allen didn't seem to have an issue throwing the ball deep, with two completions and two defensive pass interference calls in the Saints game, IIRC. 3 of the 4 long balls were to DJ Moore and Curtis Samuel. Ya know, those "effectively rookies".

    • Nah I love Thielen and he's a more than valuable player, but I think we have that role covered a bit with XL (in terms of the going across the middle) and if we were to draft T-Mac, he also thrives on crossing routes and absorbing hits while making crazy grabs. I'd rather have a peak Curtis Samuel type of slot WR over a Thielen, especially with XL and Coker already on the roster who are more in the Thielen mold from the slot than a Samuel, even if they aren't exactly Thielen of course.
    • Call me crazy but I'd like a Bersin type guy in later rounds that can learn under AT the tricks about how to get open. Bersin wasn't flashy or fast, but he caught every damn thing thrown at him. Someone who's willing to go across the middle and take those hits and actually hang on to the damn ball is something I think we've been sorely missing for a while.
    • I'm not going to try and go find old posts from months and months ago, but yes, you called me crazy for saying T-Mac over Hunter as a WR on numerous occasions. and yes, you are a Madden fanboy (and I don't mean the game, just in how you view potential roster management moves, you view them as if it's Madden where you can manipulate things to get whatever you want done). Again, that you don't see this stuff is an indictment on you, not me.
