OK, State fans, what can you tell us about Finley?

He's a career backup. Arm strength and athleticism are not elite. He did manage to whip the heels three times. I know that's not a huge accomplishment but still........

I wouldn't take him above the 4th. I see him as a journeyman backup QB best case. Average arm strength, horrible under duress, tends to lock onto his receivers. A good college QB but a backup to practice squad/FA NFL QB.

I think a mid round QB but probably a backup who could start if need be.   Could have a very long career in the NFL but it t will be primarily as a steady backup QB.

Huge Pack fan here and have seen pretty much every game he’s played in  

 

I like Finley a lot and he definitely has NFL tools. He has elite pocket presence, good decision making skills and executes well.  He has great accuracy from the pocket, but his mechanics break down on the move. Mediocre arm strength, but gets the most out of it with good anticipation. Decent deep ball.  Functional mobility  

 

Definitely had great offensive talent around him at State at the skill positions and on the offensive line.  I don’t think many people understand just how good that offensive line was, only allowing around 20 sacks in two years. Some of that was because of Finley, who rarely holds the ball and likes to get chunks of yardage on dinks and dunks. 

 

I bet if you asked him, he’d say that he models his game after Tom Brady with the short passes and emphasis on execution. I can see some similarities, but I think Ryan will likely be a fringe starter at the next level who will need the right team around him to be successful.  Great college player, though.

Finley is a backup...pretty clear.  I don’t see NFL chops from him.  Good arm, decent awareness, blah...just decent all around.   Please don’t mention Tom Brady here..lol

I like both the Mississippi and Mississippi State QBs as mid/late round picks with some potential as back up/fill in temp starters.

This comment makes so little sense that it hardly deserves a response. Unlike UNC fans, we actually support our football team AND basketball team.

 

I will tell you who I don’t know, the trash QBs coach hat trotted out the last two years in chapel hill.  Congrats on losing 9 games this season and hiring a has been coach that will fail miserably, driving you further into irrelevance.  I bet you’re still crying about Finley whipping your ass 3 years in a row.
