I was very happy to hear this---now, having said that, will Marty go  overboard and draft OL in every round an sign 5 free agents? 

Seriously, this suggests that he can assess needs and is not afraid to be heard.  Part of me wonders about his reason for agreeing to this interview--did he sense the urgency in the fan base?  I would say so.

its methodical, observation, get some understanding, learn the football side as he said.

hes got plans in the works, no doubt, and this is it for the current staff, win or bust.

i do think after hearing him talk that on the defensive side it’s more playcalling and coaching and on the offensive side it’s more oline talent.

im still saying Left Tackle first— there’s not many worth it, so you take the best one early. There’s tons of defensive talent, so much a lot of it will drop. So you can get 1st round defensive guys in the 2nd round.

thats just how it always works. Scarcity rules and all that.

Take a tackle only if he's rated as a top 5 pick. I know otah was RT but still, he was sitting right where we are picking. But if we do shore up the line, it may be the best thing.

Yes. I agree however i heard an interview with another nfl exec that to expect an owner to basically fire everyone. (front office, scouts, coaches, logistics etc)  not even been in the position a year is a tall order

keeping those two bozos for another does not thrill me either 

but, he does get the importance of the oline, he did say improvements on the d staff need and that the changes came too late, got on Rivera about poor time management and various other things

however, there needs to be a decent backup of better quality then we have and that was known last year...it was not news. Add to it keeping Newton in for the game in Pittsburgh when it was clearly game over.  As an owner, honest to god, Rivera would have been gone over that. Franchise QBs don’t grow on trees and he knew he was coming off shoulder surgery.

If you don't count the last 8 years maybe.  The only damn thing that's "evolved" under Ron Rivera is the offense seemed just a *tad* improved under Turner with a healthy Cam than under Shula with a healthy Cam.  But the overall offensive PHILOSOPHY didn't "evolve" even a little bit, it was still Rivera's "I would rather run the ball and run the clock than score" offensive philosophy, just under a different coordinator.

Thats the most info we've gotten from the Panthers owner since Jerry Richardson creeped out Morgan Fogarty, flashed some pie charts and got his derriere bruised by a hard question from DARIAN Gantt. 

IMO Teh Tepp checked all the boxes with that vid.  You can disagree with the decisions he's made thus far but there's no denying he's all in.

What was available this year? Dont see Tepper going with a rookie Head coach unless it is internal he wants improvement not stepping back.  Ron for better or worse was the best option for next season.

I'll spare yall from most of my bitching about most the things he said about Ron and Hurney and just leave it at I think he's made a mistake keeping them.  One thing I will say... he talks about needing cap space to make moves - Marty knows how to free up some cap space.  Temporarily.  God help us.
